No more Cervelli's anymore either, I grew up on 3rd & Monroe & I remember when i would go to Sorrento's and get Hot Dogs on Saturday then on Sunday go to Fiore's & would always hear the peddler yelling tripe about 4 blocks away.
I miss the old feasts, the feasts now are terrible. St. Ann's is decent but nothing like it was, the yuppies there are actually trying to get rid of the St. Ann's feast.
Good video, I like hearing about the old times. I used to live in Jersey City when i was little and remember Pizza only costing $3.50 for a large pie at Little Italy Pizza on West Wide and Clendenny Ave. My mom used to call the owner rat face cause he had a big schnozole.
30 years later and now i'm in Scotch Plains paying $13.00 for a large pie which isnt even large anymore. All of my life a large pie was 18 inches. Now, everywhere i go a large pie has shrunk down to 16 inches!!!
I love your videos the lingo compared to us my aunt lived in hobucken in the 50's and never came back ..we have little Italia here in Toronto the street i lived on was Itailian / Portugese Me being Irish background and friendly I was the block wine tester Jimmy! come here try my Portugese wine its better then the Italian guys he don't filter his like mine They can't play football too! The italian guy next door tells me ya i change his wine for mine 2 nights ago chatting lol love it
yeah, a real Molfettese. When he was still alive, the whole family would get together in the nieghborhood and the old ones would do the nickname thing.. Ever meet "Stumpy" who cleaned the fish in the basement? One leg longer than the other?

Leos? My mother's uncle was THE Leo. Watching this seems so familiar somehow.
