@MultiNikos12345 They are still around, but in a more modern guise, as for the bikes like mine, many of them got trashed by young guys who like you maybe enjoyed riding them hard & having fun, we all did, including myself. Its only now Im a lot older and possibly wiser, that I realise the significance of the legendary Honda Cub 90, I therefore intend to save this one from dying and rotting away.
I too wished they still made this little classic, but then again mine would then cease being classic.
I've lost count of how many C50's & C70's I've owned over the years Paul. Never owned a C90 though, I don't ride any more now as I no longer feel 'safe' due to my less than perfect sense of balance these days. Nice to see the old codger still going strong...And the bike as well lol.
@drummingriffin I've always had a love for this iconic bike, takes me back to my teens I suppose, old men going to work on them by the thousands, then getting hold of one to thrash down the local canal towpath. and so on...
When I came across this bike, I knew I just had to have it, I've never regretted it, and I enjoy looking at it. This year I intend to fetch her out and fire her up again, ( video time ) but only once the weather gets nice again.
@1100HondaCB She runs, thats the main thing, everything else is just cosmetic. Good luck with her, make a video of her or something, would be great to see. :-)
@Bevoin1970 I would be glad to do a video when she's finished. My one is a pale blue. I love these old little Honda step-thrus. Many people don't appreciate how useful and practical these little machines are. I had a Yamaha Townmate T80, but it got stolen two weeks ago from my back garden so hence why I now have the C70. I did 80 miles in a day on my T80 once and got nearly 145mpg. Although the T80 had many good features, I think no one can ever beat Honda with the C50/C70/C90.
awesome video, how did u no what speed you were going haha? and my grandads got the 1975 version i think haa, how much is the tax on one of the c90's? someone told me if its over 25 years old its free? :)
@TGBR50XScooter I knew if my eyes watered I was going fast... :-) Cant remember now how much the tax cost, it wasn't much at all, 20 quid or something. 1972 K reg is when the road tax is free, they stopped it soon after I think.
i'm from indonesia and im using honda grand legenda 100 year 1996 (Cub). i just wanna ask is in your country still produce a c90? coz in my country it production stop at year 1987.
@playingwithfirehurts it isn't a standard c90 then, trust me I know. You would have to be towed by something fast to get my c90 doing that speed... LOL
@TABKAP You dont really, you can see inside the tank a little bit and guess how much fuel you have, otherwise you wait until it runs out then switch onto reserve...
I just got a vintage cub family (clone). I kinda wonder how you shift so smoothly. When i upshift, no matter how hard I try, the shift into gear (stepping down forward) always gives me a "clunk" noise. Some are worse than others. I tried to step down slowly, to release the gas, etc to no avail. It clanks into gear when it feels like it. The release step (clutch engagement) has been easier for me. Wondering if you got tips on that, since yours is almost noise free.
Thank You, it looks beautiful in real life, especially on a nice sunny day, it has been very well looked after and is all original except for exhaust and battery... :-)
Thanks, yes its a cracker, I love it. The speedo is fixed now, was only a simple problem, I reckon I would have been doing around the 40 to 45mph mark, nothing spectacular... ha ha
Ha Ha never thought of that one, I had it stuffed inside my shirt, but it wouldn't stay put. It's quite awkward to fix to a bike without the expense of buying a Bullet style camera...
Thanks Bob, this is my other interest, didn't quite pan out exactly how I wanted it, keeping my camera under control was a tad awkward to say the least, but I caught the jist so to speak. Thanks for the rating and nice comments.
wow, very well looked after, used to ride one of these into London every day in the 70's and it didn't look that good, bent rusted and bashed but it got me to work to Victoria every day
They never seem to die do they, they take all sorts of abuse and still keep going. I bought this one looking like this, just got lucky I suppose on that day. Only sees nice weather nowadays, trying to keep the dreaded rust at bay for as long as possible.... Thanks for watching.
Tidy little machine for its age, it's obviously well loved. It sometimes sounds like it needs an extra gear, couldn't help wondering how you are operating the camera?
My thoughts exactly, definitely needs that extra cog. The camera was a right pain, had it stuffed inside my coat, I just set it off and just hoped for the best, however it kept moving around with the wind and vibration. Yes the bike is very well loved and looked after, speedo also fixed now. Thanks for watching.
Yes suppose I was giving it some in parts, was checking for misfires at higher revs, all seemed great to me, was having more trouble with my camera staying put. Was a perfect day for it all mind, really enjoyed myself. Listening to this again it sounds just like the engine could use another gear... :-)
Great. I had a C90 in the late 70's. It just went on and on. If it ever stopped running you could be sure it was the plug. Take it out, tap it on the kerb till the gap looked about right and away you would go. A true classic that provided (and I bet still does) cheap transport to half the world.
Ha Ha I know exactly what you mean, yes your so right, as I was making this film I passed an old bloke going the other way on one like mine, we just looked and smiled at each other... Thanks for watching and rating.
im 15 years old and i ride an c50 modifide from 50cc to 150cc.i wish they created more of these

I've just bought a 1977 C70. She needs work, but is a runner. The chrome is in good condition. When she's finished, hopefully she'll look pucker.

@HondaNova991 They are in production in Japan, they stopped the North American production about roughly the same time as Indonesia

@HondaNova991 The C90 seized production in the UK in 2002. A real shame!

@Bevoin1970 if your top is 45mph, somethings wrong! this guy has one up to eighty miles (allegedly)

ciaconne 1 year ago
The only thing I can possibly think of is check the clutch adjustment and make sure all is set up correctly.
You may need to get your hands on a workshop manual and see what needs to be done in terms of adjustment settings.
Also check chains and sprockets for wear and adjustment.
chains can and do clang.
Hope this helps slightly... :-)
