It was eerie when the sheep slowly come together and face the dog and creep forward like a mob! Dog-"Hey what are you guys doing, I'm not a border collie"! It all works out in the end. :)
Cool puppy, was his name Guage?, I have two right now and have had one pass, best breed hands down. Top five for family dogs and top ten for smarts. Very loving dogs. If raised correctly. My oldest dogs name is Gauge. I am starting tracking training with my youngest Rollo. They are very good herd dogs and trackers, not just Shutzahund (sp?) You are a very good owner for the breed by the sound of it. Have a great day.
lol that was funny, acted big for a sec, then looked like the march of the lemmings comming at him, hes smart, he backed off, lol then chased them, lol.
@davidhall8621 thats exactly how it was. he hid behind my legs until i held my arms up to scare them away then he was like "im top dog yeah". he still only wanted to play..... nice one for the comment.
thanks to everyone for your positive comments. keep looking on youtube if you still dont believe rotties are the best dogs on earth. as everyone knows its the owners that ruin dogs and to all those people who think we should have a license to keep one then bring it on most rotty owners would have no problem with that as we know how good they are. whoever the 100,000th viewer is i have a prize waiting unless your'e a hater then you get naff all!!!
These sheep are used to being herded :) The Rott ran backwards and the sheep were following him not attacking - They were waiting to be told where to go :) I think the Rott was harmless and just having some fun, Don't Hate!
I was actually scared for the rottweiler lol plus they had him backed up against the fence until his owner got them away. Then he ran after him like any man would after being cornered to say NOW WHATS UP LOL
i like how he kinda' chased after them again when you scared them off. like he saying, "yeah, thats right, keep movin'" mine is very similar. and jimlad, eat a bag of dicks man. seriously. i dont understand how people still think they're bad/mean dogs. they're all so goofy and fun and friendly. mine wouldnt hurt a fly. he loves kid, adults, older people, big dogs, small dogs, cats, everything!
People Who think rotties are mean and vicious, well they are not... Owners make they're rotties like that so they can attack, that type of owner does not have a loving heart, i love rotties with ALL my heart! they are my favorite breed!
HAHAHAHAHHAHA! look at him go! If you dont have one you are not even eligible to comment on their behavior. I have a rottie and i call him joker. They might seem dangerous to all you rott haters. But these creatures are the best thing happened to mankind. I might be exaggerating but Rottweilers are one hell of a family member.
Stop hating them, understand them. Its not the dog, its the master who is bad. A bad master can make chihuahua aggressive and dangerous.
@designProfits WRONG!!!! Chihuahuas are naturally aggressive vicious little ankle biting beasts. Rotties on the other hand are big soft cuddle bugs. And this coming from someone who's never owned a rottie, but has known a few great ones.
p.s yes I know not ALL chihuahuas are horrible, but lets face it because of their size their owners let them get away with anything, and tend to think that them snapping over a milkbone is cute.
@LionessCub1 hey mate, No offense but i disagree with your comment to some extent. Dogs are dogs and if we own them we have responsibility towards them. I never owned a Chihuahua but if you don't give them exercise, discipline they will become aggressive. And if you go through my comment again, I am totally saying what you are saying that ROTTS are amazing and awesome. Peace mate.
@designProfits No offense taken and I fully agree. I was only being facetious in saying that Chihuahuas are naturally vicious. Though I have my favorites I've never met a breed of dog and determined them to be horrible. I however have met sorry excuses for owners who aren't responsible enough for a goldfish let alone a dog.
as a rottweiler breeder, I can say this is great. The temperament of the dog is amazing. He didn´t feel threatened when the sheeps walked towards him. Not only He didn´t atack, He was very friendly.
And for the record of stupid people!!!!! The rottweiler was created in Rottweil- Germany. They used to be butchers dog. What does It means? they walked taking care of cuttle, or they were the ones that carried the money in their neck.
Rottweiler is a working breed, and they can do It in a farm!!!
@jimlad87 aslo i fink theyr on the list of dogs u cant have in england, u should get a licence for it or give it to someone in a country were they are alowed.
@austinl80 even if theyr not on the list, theyr still bad dogs. if you worked on a farm or had sheep an stuff to look after u wudnt want visious dogs runin after them. i know he didnt attack them but he wud have if u didnt call him back, and if i was the farmer i would have shot you first.
@jimlad87 fucking little prick, There are so many mistakes with your grammar on all of your comments that nobody would listen to an iliterate twat like you anyway. My dog would never bite anyone or anything and how the fuck you can think that off a 1 minute video? Also you dont sound intelligent enough to be a farmer let alone know how to get hold of a gun and while we're on the subject i;d take the gun off someone like you and shove it up your arse, now get back to learning guitar retard boy.
@jimlad87 what are you talking about? rotts, like all working/herding breeds, are generally bred/raised to be controlling over the other animals, but not to attack or kill them.
who has their herding dogs eating up the herd? kinda counter productive is it not?
rottweilers are among the best all around farm dog. they can herd, defend, track, do all kinds of other stuff, and at the end of the day are a calm reliable family dog dedicated to its master above all others.
@jimlad87 Rotties a natural herding dogs and farmers do have this bree for cattle and guarding and they make great guard dogs. I agree he shouldn't have been let off but if they where only put in the field then he wasn't to know and to me the dog didn't look very dangerous. He looked more scared to be honest.
@jimlad87 Take the dick outta your ass and calm the fuck down, rotties are far from bad dogs. I dont understand why people hate against a dog they have no clue about.
@jimlad87 They are NOT BAD DOGS! What makes U say that? Did U see him attack anything in any way? NO He didn"t! ,He just happens to be a ROTTWEILER enjoying a good romp in the snow like ANY dog does! He weren"t gonna attack the sheep ffs! Looks like sheep were more "bring it on fluffy"! LOL!
Funny video mate! Ignore the idiots who think your putting your dog in danger. love the bit where you scare the sheep of and he feels he did it and chases after them...haha. P.S. wasnt this video filmed before you spoke to the farmer who then said he could shoot your dog? If im correct, then there was no harm done or threatened towards you or your dog at the point of filming?
@TotalDT nice one mate. yeah the farmer came round to my house after. he wasnt agrressive he said he knew i walked there everyday he just said if he thought my dog was putting them in danger then he has the right to. he just asked if i could put him on a lead for peace of mind for both of us so i did. to be fair he only has the sheep in there one week out of the year. thanks for the comment.
You didn't realise the sheep were in there? You knew your dog could be shot, and you were conveniently carrying a video camera with you, filmed the whole thing, regardless of the consequences.
Well done. Whether your dog is good with animals means shit. Have some common sense in future.
@SteveBlues87 IF YOU KNEW THE FIELD AND HOW MUCH THE SHEEP WERE OUT OF VIEW YOU WOULD UNDERSTAND AND YEAH I FILM MY DOG WHEN WE ARE OUT WALKING (WITH MY PHONE) THEY HAVE CAMERAS ON THESE DAYS YOU KNOW.... I KNOW THE FARMER AND HE WOULDNT HAVE SHOT HIM IM JUST POINTING OUT TO TWATS LIKE YOU NOT TO COMMENT THAT I DONT KNOW FARMERS RIGHTS AND THAT THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO SHOOT MY DOG. FUCKING DICK HEAD, GET A LIFE, GET OUTSIDE AND STOP HIDING BEHIND UR COMPUTER.
Rottweilers are working dogs and that herding was actually the primary purpose. At least now that you know the farmer didn't like it and you are aware of consequences you are keeping your Rottie safe. The sheep didn't look intimidated at first, I thought it was neat how they kept walking toward your Rottie.
@cacaman100o You obviously dont know farm life, its a law how we live, animals that trespass and risk damaging our livestock worth thousands of dollars of course are at risk themselves of taking a rifle bullet or two, he was actually very lucky the farmer was so nice to come the next day and tell him instead of taking the dog out right there on his private property....
@yabodmon fucking little gimp in ur shit french overun country. with ur 1 friend and 2 subscribers. look at your favourite videos mate, get a life and stop hating you little bitch.
Just proves that it's not the type of dog that makes it a danger it's the way the owner brings it up. He looks like a soft and gentle Rottweiler so you brought him up well !
sheep are like "weve got a deal with serta, we make twice as much money as that human over there, so dont fuck with us or well sick our lawyers on you."
Since no one was hurt in the making of this video, it's great fun. I really thought those sheep were gonna charge! It reminds me of when my Basenji first saw a horse. Great to watch these interactions.

What people don't usually realize is rotty's were called "butcher dogs" because they helped butchers drive the animals into slaughter houses, they were bred to be herders! obviously he isn't trying to hurt them, he is just interested.
@Cuvac Yeah obviously i am, you said "with a kangal or sarplaninac guarding teh sheep, the rotweiler would be dead ;p " and than i told you that just didnt even happen there was no kangal or big tough sheep dog, so yur comment was a fail, and the rott had a hilarious time....
I love dogs and yours is so cute! I thought the video was cute as well. My dog makes me laugh all the time.. She is always doing something silly!!!! Your dog looks pretty silly to.. lol.. Seems playful! I enjoyed the video :)
lol thank you. hame i dont own him anymore. i left him with the ex as he was a mummys boy. i got to keep my parrot though and she is a laugh a minute. check my other vid out. and thanks for the comments, glad it made someone else chuckle. peace!!
if that was a lion against those sheep that lion wud not have taken a single step backwards, all the sheep at the front would have gone to sheep heaven
@raggice what wrong with you....all i said is that a lion would not back away because the lion is as brave as they come but you come out with all this ''i assume you have a lion''' no i dont have a lion but iv seen a male lion take on several hyenas so fuck offf redneck
hahahahah my dog woulda been going crazy he normally chases cows. p.s watch out for the st parnees or whatever they are called they are huge white gaurding dogs for the sheep they will kill your dog on site
dude piss off im not looking for a fight and it doesnt matter if it has the strongest bite if it cant get a good bite in its fucked theres a video on here a rotweiller vs a kurdish kangal and the kangal is about the same as the paranees and it mucks the rotweiller
Rotts were mostly cart dogs, this looks like something my dumb ass ex always wanted to do "lets take the dog out to meet the cows!" It was an interesting video though, first time i've seen sheep act in an intimidating manner before
I see nothing wrong with that. Rottweilers are known to be good herding sheeps and cows, so I found it very natural although your one seems not to have too much experiencie. Anyway I do not see danger for none of both, sheeps or rottie.
@librexpresion i never stated any general rule, but the combination of dogs and livestock is a serious concern that has prompted some very harsh laws.
One have no idea how a dog with NO experience with farm animals might react when it finally meets one.
what do you mean no haters - you were more interested in taken a cute little video that controlling your dog and sticking him on a lead - stupid prick.
britlady?? where the fuck did you get that name from? OI ya mouthy cow, firstly learn to spell and use proper English, and second, control my dog? you stupid slag, did he look out of control to you? NO!! now shut ya fucking pie hole and get back to the washing up, ya dirty little CHAV whore!! FUCK ME, give a person a computer to hide behind they think they can slag anyone they want off..
Yeh rotts were used for herding. It's funny how he's probably never seen a sheep before but as soon as they started running the other way, his instincts jumped into action and he started herding them!
He looks like the commander of some huge army!

Anyway its good you learned the lesson, and i know its a scary lesson.
When i was hiking with my sister, dad and my Golden Retriver, he managed to yank loose from my grip, and started charging against a herd.
My dad managed to reel him and gave my dog a wallop and sternly telling me the consequences if he actually managed to get ahold of one of the sheeps.
Wasnt a pleasant lesson for a 11 year old to learn that their pet might have been put down.

What people don't usually realize is rotty's were called "butcher dogs" because they helped butchers drive the animals into slaughter houses, they were bred to be herders! obviously he isn't trying to hurt them, he is just interested.

with a kangal or sarplaninac guarding teh sheep, the rotweiler would be dead ;p
Cuvac 2 years ago 2
@Cuvac Yea but that just didnt happen, so fail on yur comment.... it was a funny video about the rott

@Taud
Takkin 2 me?
This behaviour says not much about the character of a dog. Even vicious dogs can run away.
These sheep have good flock instinct!

Rotts were mostly cart dogs, this looks like something my dumb ass ex always wanted to do "lets take the dog out to meet the cows!" It was an interesting video though, first time i've seen sheep act in an intimidating manner before
grazzitdvram 2 years ago
I see nothing wrong with that. Rottweilers are known to be good herding sheeps and cows, so I found it very natural although your one seems not to have too much experiencie. Anyway I do not see danger for none of both, sheeps or rottie.
fmmarzoa 2 years ago 9
he wasnt even a year old there though. thanks for your comment.
austinl80 2 years ago
@fmmarzoa That's still no excuse, in many cases dogs almost instinctively attacks a herd such as this.
A farmer isnt willing to risk his livestock just because you think you're dog is a good boy.
Allways keep a dog on leash around livestock animals.
slitor 1 year ago
@slitor
I see "in many cases" here means your own and limited experience with your own dog. Sorry guy, but that does not make a general rule.
librexpresion 1 year ago
@librexpresion i never stated any general rule, but the combination of dogs and livestock is a serious concern that has prompted some very harsh laws.
One have no idea how a dog with NO experience with farm animals might react when it finally meets one.
slitor 1 year ago
Yeah there's no way those sheep can look after themselves....i say its unfair to dogs!

He was only doing what his natural instinct was.Funny that he was scared of them though.Would have loved to seen him herd them!
RottAndRoll 3 years ago
lol.. thats what they were used for wasnt it? hurding?
its funny cos he hurds me sometimes and my niece and nephew.
austinl80 3 years ago
Yeh rotts were used for herding. It's funny how he's probably never seen a sheep before but as soon as they started running the other way, his instincts jumped into action and he started herding them!
