@dudezillo Im sorry sweet heart but you are very misinformed. You should actually do some research. The oil spills were caused by Texaco, which did not keep up maintnance on their pipelines, and caused many oil spills throughout the Ecuadorian Amazon. In the 90's the made a small payment to the government of Ecuador, which was left to them to help cleanup the mess. However it was no where near enough. Then Chevron bought Texaco, however has refused to take any responsibility for this destruction
The people of Ecuador attempted a case in the United States against Chevron and once Chevron realized they were loosing the case they decided to go to Ecuador, and try their luck with Ecuadorian courts. Too my knowledge this was with hopes of being able to payoff a judge in their favor which obviously hasnt happened. Instead the case has gone on for years, and a few months ago the people of Ecuador won their case, but Chevron appealed this decision. Dont be a dimwit do some research.
I never seen some many stupid people in my life. Nice vid..... don't tell the truth to the whole thing there. Chevron wasn't the one who did all that.. I just so happen they bought out another Company that did all that and now they are faced with dealing with someone else mess left behind. But you don't talk about that. Do you have any links or sources that you could post? I am genuinely interested in learning more about this, and I think it is important to know where to direct our efforts and protests to so that we can actually fight the true criminals here
@tmgrk1 part of this is negative, it was Texaco who did the spilling not Petroecuador. Chevron bought Texaco and inherited all problems caused by Texaco. It is their responsibility.
Lets solve these alledged deaths by causing another death (of the CEO), quite a reasonable response based on the research of one propagndic youtube video...
If you kill the CEO or any useless man, they would make up stories about how sick you are and how hostile you grew up or they would tag you as a child abuser... and s..t. which could be all fraud but who cares, they have the media, pr and all the other bs....Nobody would question your motive or your intentions, or the reason...Money world for you mate. "The sick and dying villagers. " The water was contaminated, but NOT DUE TO TEXACO's hydrocarbons, but fecal coliforms...and Cancer problems, NONE WHICH HAVE BEEN REPORTED IN THE LAW SUIT. Okay, if you live in a poor ecuadorian village, why would you NOT try to sue Chevron, you have nothing to lose. Whereas why would Texaco (Chevron) just want to dump all of remains there. That would be a PR disaster, and they have a lot to lose.
I mean because it is total bullshit no way does a CEO keep piles of gold in his office that'd be terrible PR plus gold is really heavy and CEOs live on the top floors of buildings and I bet it would be structurally unsound and really dangerous.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Was the ecuadorian oil company that dumped the waste years after Texaco (now Chevron) left the concession in Ecuador. But of course, it is more feasible to scam money to Chevron than to the poor ecuadorian government. The lawsiut is not to bring the truth out, but to scam money to private investors. Fuck the lawers, all of them.
Do you mean the backstory where a large company indirectly killed people and caused one of the largest environmental disasters ever in order to make money and they got away with it because it didn't directly affect important people, or you mean because the video is kind of goofy?
Why do you have to take this to a political area? This is a crime against these local people's rights. Whether you are a conservative or a liberal has nothing to do with it. Open your fucking eyes! They don't give a damn about you, all they care about is getting more money!
@misayo85 he didn't call anyone conservative or liberal. what is YOUR problem? He just brought up what chevron does. So tell me where in this video you saw any political reference.
@misayo85 thank you! whether you are a socialist or conservative etc. WE need to stand up for the indigenous peoples rights in ecuador!! chevron needs to be stop and sued before they destroy any more of mother nature
If you liberals hate oil so much, why don't you just stop buying petroleum based products?
If you say it's only Chevron, then don't do business with them. I mean, what other companies do you have serious issues with that you choose to do business with?
For example, I don't like Walmart, therfore I don't shop there, but I don't try to use the power of the Federal government to put them out of business.
Actually, Matt, YOU are completely wrong. I have been there and seen it for myself. The pits were left there by Texaco many years ago and never cleaned up. they refuse to do the right thing now and the people DO have cancer and other illnesses NOT caused by lack of sanitation. You know VERY little about this in reality so I recommend you don't post about what you don't know about.
I respect your use of CAPS and the fact that you have been at "ground zero". You may in fact have more evidence than I, but I have got one leg up on this argument. COMMON SENSE. Why, just Why. The court reports will show both sides of this issue, ulike this video and videos like it. I havent found any information leading me to beleive that your accusations are legitimite. Often times, the "I WAS THERE" makes people want that cause to be more known, often for subcontious personal benefit
Hmm... how about talking to scientists, lawyers, industry experts, shareholders, community leaders, working on the case for two years in an organization working on it for over 7. Hmm... I think that MIGHT give me the edge over you as far as knowing what's going on. The reality is Texaco deliberately dumped it and never cleaned it up. People are dying and they are liable for that mess. End of story.

"I'm sure they have done their damage but I won't buy Chevron fuel, ONLY Shell (BP) or 76(ConocoPhillips)."
Ok moron, Shell doesn't own BP, and 76 is owned by Unocal, which is owned by Chevron.. the internet is a GREAT way to display your ignorance. Check your facts. Also, I think it's funny you are so quick to point the finger at Chevron and not serve any blame to PetroEquador. So easily swayed by the media.
hey, nmmk1234, looks like your channel was created to just make comments for Corporate profits. There IS no need for Petroleum when Industrial grade HEMP (non THC), can do everything petrolium can do. AND it's FREE. And it's NATURAL, AND it's good for our health. Easy to grow!YOU are part of the problem...."So easily swayed by the media". THE DAMN MEDIA IS OWNED NOW BY 5 CORPORATIONS. Little videos like this are the only place left where "the little people" can make fun of YOU.
"The little people"? That makes me laugh. Do you think I'm not one of the little people because I have rational opinions or because I have one that opposes yours? None of us really know the truth, I just think it is strange that no one blames PetroEquador which had been running this stuff since Texaco left. Also, I totally support alternate energy so kudos to you. But why am I part of the problem by pointing out someone's stupid and totally incorrect comment?
You GOTTA be KIDDING ME!! Your'e still trying to defend BigOil? So instead of not bying Chevron, you will only support European Royalty!! (Queen Beatrix has enough) Give back to So.America.~Citgo~ What are you doing for Permaculture? For Free energy which Tesla discovered in1902....but there was this little problem...it was FREE. So is industrial grade hemp. That's illegal for the same reason. How could they OWN the world without thier oil profits! Who do you think SHOWED Ecuador where to dig?
@nmmk1234 76 is owned by ConocoPhillips... Also I find it funny that you say people are being "swayed" by the media, I am a US citizen, and have been to Ecuador, and have seen the problem. I have also emailed Chevron about the issue to receive a self contradicting statement where they basically admit that this was caused by Texaco, which they now own, however they believe that they arent responsible to pay the damages. Why do you think Chevron requested the case be moved from the US to Ecuador?
absolutely i will donate the ordinance lol, reminds me of a rap one of my construction workers would sing "i was driving an expedition oh no no oh no i didn't" lolololol pure class
mail me some .45 acp and .300 wsm rounds. oh and i'll need alot of diet mt.dew. i'm being funny but we really oughta do something about this evil shit these shitty assholes are doing. "the rainforests aren't important!" they only provide us with OXYGEN FUCK FACE! i'm calm cool and collected. but the rest of america is too busy chewing on FUCKING FREEDOM FRIES AND WATCHING AMERICAN IDOL TO GIVE A SHIT! i need some weed or something...
Fuck Chevron. Bob Eaton, corrupt POS former Chairman of Chrysler responsible for many safety defects and knowingly doing nothing about them is now on the board of directors.

For the past 15 years Chevron has been waging a campaign of evasion, lies and intimidation against more than 30,000 Ecuadorian villagers, who are struggling for basic human rights, such as clean drinking water and a healthy environment. Now, they have hired some corporate hit men, including Sam Singer, an SF PR guy, to defame and ridicule and offend the Ecuadorian people.
It's time for Chevron to pay up for the devastation that they reap all around the world. All the money in the world can't buy back your soul Chevron. Great video!
And to top it off Chevron just hired a lawyer who worked for the Dept. of Defense who resigned after it was clear he "crafted policies" that led to the abuse at Abu Ghraib. THAT makes Chevron's actions even more de3plorable!
Who else could possibly defend Chevron in this case? They're making record profits, and at the same time refusing to take responsibility for cancer, birth defects, and death in Ecuador. Only someone with absolutely no morality whatsoever would have the necessary job skills.
Ive been to Ecuador, Ive seen some of the damage, and have spoke to some of the people and families that have suffered directly from this.

DEAL WITH IT.

But why am I part of the problem by pointing out someone's stupid and totally incorrect comment?
nmmk1234 2 years ago
You GOTTA be KIDDING ME!! Your'e still trying to defend BigOil? So instead of not bying Chevron, you will only support European Royalty!! (Queen Beatrix has enough) Give back to So.America.~Citgo~ What are you doing for Permaculture? For Free energy which Tesla discovered in1902....but there was this little problem...it was FREE. So is industrial grade hemp. That's illegal for the same reason. How could they OWN the world without thier oil profits! Who do you think SHOWED Ecuador where to dig?

anything that is free such as energy and oil in life has major problems.....greed and corruption.
Greed will cost this planets enviroment and nature will have its say because humanity has lost its identity.

And you are right, the internet does provide a great way for people to show their ignorance, you are clearly showing yours.

Fantastic! Chevron is going down! Can't wait to support you guys at the next shareholder meeting! Keep up the good work!
sfsoulforce 3 years ago 4
And to top it off Chevron just hired a lawyer who worked for the Dept. of Defense who resigned after it was clear he "crafted policies" that led to the abuse at Abu Ghraib. THAT makes Chevron's actions even more de3plorable!

Who else could possibly defend Chevron in this case? They're making record profits, and at the same time refusing to take responsibility for cancer, birth defects, and death in Ecuador. Only someone with absolutely no morality whatsoever would have the necessary job skills.
This video is great!
