1stly BC9, Thanx 4 sharing this wondefrul post w/us! It's funny I agree w/most posts on here, as I 2 H8ed this updating of 'IDoJ's' untouchable instrumental themesong when I 1st heard it! BUT now WhnEv I hear the opening N syndication I expect it 2 transform N2 this 1 (which I now Luuuuv better!). The same thing happened 2 me after I heard the demo version (w/lyrics!). MayB they just've 2 grow on U? Now if only sum1 could get around 2 putting 'IDoJ's' 2 standout reunion movies on DVD.....
I didn't think it was all that bad. I was disappointed that Hagman wasn't there. I think Wayne Rogers did well opposite Barbara Eden. But I really missed the bond Tony had with Roger Healy. And that's where I think Hagman had the advantage over Wayne Rogers. I just didn't feel it the same way with Wayne's "Tony Nelson".
Ah, 80s and 90s TV-reunion movies...see kids, they were pretty common back in the day: there were reunion movies for Jeannie, The Brady Bunch, The Waltons, Gilligan's Island, Andy Griffith, Green Acres...all of them cheesy but still good fun :)
15 Years Later had a sad and awful ending. Jeannie's sister wins out and the couple has to split up!! In the 1991 film they acted like the 1985 flm never happened. i remember watching the last
scene in this movie and thinking, "what the ^%$# just happened?!?
I regret to inform you you're wrong. Larry Martin Hagman couldn't reprise his role as Colonel Anthony Nelson since he was on vacation and the character was written out preventing an actor being needed for him and William Henry "Hayden" Rorke (Colonel Doctor Alfred Bellows) was gone from having died in 1987. But Barbara Jean "Barbara Eden" Morehead (Jeannie) and William Edward "Bill" Daily (Major Roger Healey) did return for the second I Dream Of Jeannie movie I Still Dream Of Jeannie in 1991.
I haven't see the movie so I can't agree with you at present whether or not he makes a better Colonel Anthony Nelson but it looks like William Wayne McMillan Rogers III made a good one. Larry Martin Hagman, the original actor to play Nelson, was unable to reprise his role so Rogers replaced him. I think even when I do see the movie I'll like Hagman better. But then that's just my opinion and again it looks like Rogers filled the role good since Hagman couldn't return to do it. That was too bad.
The one thing that made me crazy about this movie was the whacked out sound effects for the blinks. It was the synthesizer thing that didn't sound right at all. They did the same thing in "I Still Dream of Jeannie" but at least there were a couple of variations in that movie. I don't know why they didn't use the boing that everyone knows.
The ending looks reminiscent of a Stephen J. Cannell series like "Hunter" or "The A-Team."

The "15 Years Later" citation alludes to the fact this aired 15 years after the 1970 cancellation of the original IDOJ series.

Wait, wait, wait?! "Music by Mark Snow"?! The same guy who did the music for "The X Files", "The Lone Gunmen" and "Smallville"? Awesome!

And "Hart to Hart," also created by Sidney Sheldon.

This closing was a throwback to the days of Stephen J. Cannell dramas from that year, 1985, such as Hunter and The A-Team.

I think I can see why Sony Pictures cancelled their plans to put that on the "I Dream of Jeannie" complete series DVD.

I still hope the officially release the two movies on DVD one day, for nostalgia reasons. It'd make a good double feature set.

The Columbia Pictures Television "Torch Lady" with the Coca-Cola Company byline should be tacked onto the very end of the closing credits.

This 1st reunion movie for *Jeannie* (1985) was better than the 2nd one (1991)--Wayne Rogers makes a better Tony Nelson!
The 1985 movie was the last appearance by all 4 main characters.

To me, the I still dream of Jeannie was a "sleepier" version of the 85' version. The 85 version was signature 80's
