As you know, a large part of the program was developed for the order of Marc Cale, in fact in Hungary, for more than a year by a team of young mathematicians and programming geniuses, called SoftView.
System 3 took over the 85% completed game and after the finishing strokes, it was released without listing the name of the whole Hungarian team on their alleged request.
It is high time to make up for the recognition, at least...
The only game on the C64 that truly blew my mind when it came out. Ahhhhhh those damn pesky stepping stones, good times! Also, when encountering a battle, stay close to the edge of the screen and let the opponent come to you, great strategy.
@kegsen maybe so.. but if you read my previous comment I was asking if anyone remembers the game Thai Boxing -
cthulhusmop couldnt remember the name of the game, even though I had said it, he is confused with the game Bangkok Knights..
Thai Boxing is an isometric style kickboxing game where the players faces at the top corners of the screen gradually becomes more mashed up the more you got hit.
I remember System 3 - they also made International Karate, another excellent fighting game.
I am trying to remember the name of the song/remix, i forget who it was done by but it had a combination of last ninja + international karate together and it was long, and awesome! It started with last ninja with international karate in the middle then blended back to last ninja. I remember I first came across the remix on youtube ages ago but cant remember how to find it again, does anyone know?
Just as good as amiga 500 eh? :) Funny, since these 'intro' graphics arent from a computer game at all. Now that you mention it, the Amiga intro was actually not that great at all. But never mind :)
There were two screenshots from the C64 version of The Last Ninja and also two from IK+(C64 version there too). Where the rest is coming from I don´t know. But this is a damn good remix/remake/cover from the original music. Love it!
music sounds like chinese not japanese sound its made in US i remember Commodore 64 20 years ago im japanese engineer thank you your posting my dear old PC i had AMIAGA 500 as US PC
I stoped programming when first virus comes out on C64 because they were making war with this software on amiga it started going to be harder because every disc got a infect from the bootsector.
Oh really? I didn't know. But my Amiga 500 was stolen in Nagoya JAPAN
I was using compuserve between Toyota and San Francisco. It costed about $2,000/month. US programer was programig on AMIGA for my company...my memory...
Edit: I mean the Softwareprodoucer not Amiga, Sorry my is is not the Best. At this Time the Thing with the Akkustickopplerthing was to expensive for me. I payed the C64 for over 600 Deutsche Mark I used first black/white Tv then i got and green Monitor for 348 DM+Dattasette were you needed hours to load a Programm. After a time i got the Floppy for 548 Deutsche Mark.
this was my favourite C64 game of all-time. It had me tamed for a long long time. With my casette loading C64, it gave me my first glimpse of gaming with a bit of thought and class. Brilliant.
I sing this! Last Ninja had a huge impact on me back in the day. A month ago I finally got the whole soundtracks of them all. Daglish and Leesh really hit the spot. Respect to all those imaginative game makers of the past! Great video!
Nice work evocative and ethereal for the best c64 title ever! (best selling to, 2.000.000 copies since 1987) I strongly suggest the hi-resolution version
thanks for the memories i remember having my bath eating tea and still sitting in front of the screen wait for it to load lol :) THE GOOD OLD DAYS

When I was a kid in '87's year,
My mind switched to Last Ninja's gaming gear.
Six levels in all this game possessed,
An understatement to say I was impressed.
Easy to admit, I was and still am obsessed,
In all honesty back to childhood at times I have regressed.
So I know I cannot solve this mystery,
Whilst reviewing my Last Ninja History.
