not enough said about Eddie Mc Fadden, it takes a special guitar player to work organist. Eddie Mc Fadden, Kenny Burrell, Mel Sparks, even the great Wes Montgomery missed the mark playing with Jimmy.
@Gruvdigger I think they did, but for some reason I remembering an old album with McGriff on one side and Smith on the other. Not uncommon back then, or now for that matter, to put artists music on one album. I always liked McGriff better, but then you witness this Jimmy Smith playing and you think it doesn't get any better- the Master! I Played A100 (B3 w/ spkrs) & Leslie 122 for about 6 years, but then discovered the Wurlitzer electrostatic reed organ, love 4410! Get free-reed
@paulj0557 - I always had a hard time deciding which one I liked better. I have a McGriff album with him playing a Roland XB 2 - no match for the B3. Being a bass player, I can't comment from my own playing experience but having played in several bands with B3s and one with an M3 - there just is nothing, IMHO, that can match a B3 played through a pair of Leslies. I've heard some keyboards that come close but none that can equal it. Univox made a good one and Kurtzweil (sp?) - come to mind..
awesome !

Very sweet. So different than the one with Kenny and Grady in '65.
