great video. my veiled chameleon is eating so much now that i'll be saving a lot of money to house crickets myself instead of the little keeper i have that holds less that 75 and smells awful and now i know how to build my setup. thanks!
good plan if you are housing small crickets and a small amount. I buy the adult size in a box of 1000 and they last a week. They stink and I've tried everything. The 1/2" ones don't smell as much.
@SkankinLozer are you talking about dubia roaches? i've tried introducing them to my chameleon and he likes them but i've never that about housing them. is it relatively easy?
@massivecommshot Yes I am. Although they could be kind of expensive, within a 3 month period you will have easily multiplied your colony by 3 or 4. Buy a rubbermaid bin, cheap heat mat, lots of egg cartons, and water gel then your set. Feed them ground up dog food and oranges (increases birth rate and numbers). It is very easy when you have everything set up. And they don't die left and right like crix. Hope this helped.
@evvdcaec Wet paper towels will work just fine as long as you remember to keep them sprayed and moist. The problem with paper towel is that it is a perfectly suited breeding ground for bacteria and needs to be changed quite often (change them whenever they're dirty). I recommend water crystals because they are very low maintenance (throw more in when you don't see many) and it's easy to buy water crystals with calcium and gut load already added.

just go with roaches. Much easier to care for and no smell. Also they give birth to live young and have a much better meat to shell ratio.

Instead of the gel water stuff can I just use wet paper towels?
