  • In This Clip, From 1:16 To 1:43, It Was WBZ-TV's Weekday Line-Up Video Promo From Late 1984.

  • In This Clip, From 0:52 To 1:16, It Was WBZ-TV's Lottery Live! Video Promo From Late 1984.

  • In This Clip, From 0:46 To 0:50, It Was WBZ-TV's Rooftop Video ID From December 1984.

  • The Cosby Show, Night Court, and tons of other shows were the big shows that made NBC what is was back in the day.

  • How many of those weird station ID's are there?

  • 4:49 I just now noticed the scene in "Let's All Be There" where the mother is offing the kids some pizza, only to be brushed off by them while they're concentrating on "Knight Rider"...LOL; Tartikoff was a genius :)

  • I had no idea he worked at WBZ before hosting AFV and DWTS!!!

  • Wow!... I Todally love that NBC let's all be there song

  • OMG at 1:00 thats Tom Bergeron the future host of America's Funniest Home Videos

  • Watching this makes me think of how much NBC blows right now, compared to 20-25 years ago. I wish we could magically resurrect Brandon Tartikoff from the grave and have him take control of NBC once again.

  • @kc86er As far as I know, Brandon Tartikoff is NOT dead.

  • @tmisch64 He died of Hodgkin's Disease on August 27, 1997 a the age of 48. He was way too young, and it was very tragic. He's gone now, and so is NBC...

  • It was through's that sticker of NBC (1984) that the TVS / SBT copied and made the "QUEM PROCURA ACHA AQUI" (version 1988). The TVS/SBT´s version was better, agree.

  • Foi através dessa vinheta da NBC (1984) que a TVS/SBT copiou e fez o "QUEM PROCURA ACHA AQUI" (versão 1988). A versão de TVS/SBT ficou melhor, convenhamos.

  • AWESOME!!!!!

  • People Are Talking still using the disco-flavored theme music in 1984..our rest was fully assured in '85 when the score changed to the more modern theme that lasted into Bergeron's hosting stint.

  • WBZ was much better as an NBC affiliate.

  • I agree with you. NBC-Universal should buy WBZ and become NBC-4. We would then see a duopoly b/w WBZ, and Telemundo 60 WNEU. This would be a great opportunity to increase the Hispanic population in New England.

  • I don't know if I'd call it NBC4. Most New Englanders weren't too happy with CBS4, so what they should do is call it "WBZ 4 NBC". The logo would be the old Group W 4 with the Peacock to the right. The name could also be a slogan as in "Watch WBZ for(4) NBC."

  • Bring back the Spirit of New England package from the early 90s onto WBZ Radio (i.e. the electronic sports sounder... and the old traffic jingle with the WBZ logo woven in.

  • @godgundam10

when they didn't pre-empt NBC programming

  • Why didn't I see "The Cosby Show" in the promo? It was in the peacock network lineup.

  • VintageTelevision you've hit a home run with these new additions! Great to hear the Gari WBZ news music at 2:20 - haven't heard this outro since the mid 80's. Do you have any clips from "Live on 4" or "4 Today" (Jack Chase/Don Kent/Linda Harris early morning show, not the Tom Bergeron cut-ins featured in this clip) from '80 or '81? Thanks for all you've shared to date - they are great...

  • I might have a bit of "Live on 4" on an old tape; but I don't think I have any video of WBZ-TV's early morning news with Jack Chase, et al.

  • They mentioned the "Let's All Be There" slogan in some movie with River Phoenix and Ethan Hawke wither called "Explorers" or "Space Explorers".

  • At 2:39 into the video, was this music piece from the WBZ News Package by Gari Media Group?

  • Yes, I believe this music is from Frank Gari.

  • An 'episode' of "4 Today" can be seen at 1:48 here:v=T4rh8zx3lgQ

  • Great addition! I just wish Let's All Be There could have been a video by itself.

  • So this is what Tom Bergeron did before Hollywood Squares. I didn't recognize him until the announcer mentioned his name.

  • ...and before AFV (America's Funniest Home Videos)!!!

  • You're a star, V.T.! So THIS is what New England television was in the heyday, eh?

  • VintageTelevision, I believe you are the first to provide to the internet the complete full-length video of 1984's Let's All Be There, which for many must be the first time it's been viewed since it aired. Bravo!

As per Mass. State Lottery drawings, if you could provide us with any from the time they were first held in this market, through Tom Bergeron to WNEV's Andi Waugh/Dawn Hayes era, it would be awesome stuff.

  • Now if you can get us a full length version of "Our Pride is Showing" from 1981, you'll have found the second holy grail of NBC Promos.

  • My goodness, it's the full LABT '84 promo!

  • It's only been 25 Years since the launch of the "Be There" Series of promotions for the Peacock:

    Fall 1983-84: Be There

    84-86 "Let's All" Be There!!!

  • OMG, you are da man. I got to see an extended version of the antenna ID starting at 0:46, and the local image campaign from 2:15-2:45 sounds like an older Gari Communications package.

  • Nothing immediately comes to mind -- but perhaps I'll come across a drawing while screening one of my old VHS tapes in the future.

  • Do you have any lottery drawings other than the one shown here?
