  • I think though that he manipulated it a bit in the studio, because he dubbed parts of my flute playing and cut out the rest...

    it was great anyway

  • @rusidava actually this is a theme from Maramures county in Romania, has nothing to do with Ciuleandra. And in Maramures Babushka is a common nickname for girls. I think Steve knows some folk lore better tham most of us!

  • @valibirzoi and, by the way, this was recorded at Steve's first concert in Bucharest, Romania (was there, so I remember the „stop! this sounds like jazz” joke - and he said he wanted to play this romanian song and recording it in Romania for „Alive in an Ultraworld” album...

  • @valibirzoi That's cool!

  • realdeal starts at @2:00

  • 1 person who didn't like the song has a problem with his ears

  • @kydkobra89 that one person is out of tune and sounds like jazz

  • epic!

  • I really don't care about its flavour, but I enjoy the playfulness within the song by Vai and his band throughout the song. There is a part with the drums... Good Drummer.

  • stop this instant that sounds like jazz.

    :D

    jazz is cool :P

    haha :D

  • 1:08-1:16 a part from ARMENIAN composer Aram Khachaturian's "Sabre Dance" from the "Gayane" ballet

  • totally romanian i'd say... search for Ciuleandra and you'll find it, even with vocals... so if there are some nimrods still out there, and all this isn't convincing enough... search the album on wikipedia, and in details the poor bastards should find each song from the album and the country's folklore that spawned it into this cruel world filled with dumb asses that talk without thinking

  • this remindsme rasputin's song

  • i like it!

  • what is that song the violins very first play

  • what song is at 1:08
