I'm still having sync issues, I'm stuck at 2 tracks, guitar chords and then a lead run on top. It's not very syncing up like I'd like. Can you give me a suggestion as to how to sync them, since I don't have keyboarded drums to sync??
@Josiahjjr -- You should be able to listen to the other tracks on your headphones, and record with your mic, and I think it should be in sync. If not, you can easily slide the track forward or backward and fix it.
Excellent video, i've been recording & editing tracks on audacity for a while on a very old computer and it works a charm, i was wondering if i could envisage multitrack recording & your video shows exactly how..
and thx for the nice shortcuts & details explained here as well
o got you now just asking becase was looking into the program i like this program it works good it dont lag a pc down like my adobie 1.5 did you do good work
I didn't want the drums to be recorded on the same track as the instrument. I just needed a couple bars at the beginning of each track in order to get them all in sync.
how did you hook up your keyboard to your computer. I recently purchased a midisport uno to hook up straight from my keyboard to usb in my pc but i cant pick anything up in audacity.
I believe it's toward the end of Part One where I show the 1/4 inch phone-jack that I plug into the keyboard, then an adapter to a 1/8 inch mini-plug that goes into the computer's "line in". Hope that helps.
You are totally amazing guy. I really appreciate your dedication of your time for this purpose-sharing of knowledge. It is one of the best gifts anyone can give.
In preferences you can select recording in mono or stereo. it will save you time instead of splitting it. you can also take mono's and turn them into stereo.
very cool, I have the same keyboard too so something I could do as well. Thanks for the tut.

@Josiahjjr - Thanks for the comment. You can generate a click track to help you keep the tempo. Click on "Generate", then "Click Track". Take care.

@dvmovie Thanks for the quick reply! Thanks, sorry, bit i have another question. Would a mic cause a delay? I don't have another mic to double check.

Look at the reply that's halfway down this page, where I talk about plugging into an adapter, then straight into the computer.
