  • 270k in australia.. 120k everywhere else

  • @XxpeddyxX 500k in singapore

  • The vinegar aussie accent, the doofy hairstyle with hair flying out on his sides, and the love of constantly having to convert KW to BHP just to work out how powerful the car is makes Top Gear Australia pretty interesting.

  • It's Audi

  • twin turbo V10 and 0-100 kph in 4.6 secs? something is wrong there.

  • @cirilobeto Well, it's "only" got 580ish HP, and weighs over 2 tonnes. So there's your problem. The engine isn't tuned highly, especially considering the BMW 5 litre V10 and the Lambo V10s produces about 80HP less, minus 2 turbos.

  • oups here comes the CTS-V

  • @DUBARTIFY And then you realise they dont sell the CTS-V in Australia, and the Panamera Turbo has trumped the CTS-V, and then the F10 M5 has just been released, and is possibly quicker still.

  • Put crappy Holden in its place

  • I like the HSV Models .. but the orange coulor is shit house .. i drove my friends HSV and they are great to drive .. if you havnt driven the new HSV's you cant talk

  • don't worry there down under. its 230,000€ in finland because of our dirty-ass tax rates

  • @TheTonganMammoth Absolutely everything you listed above the Americans have to deal with too, except they get the cars for less than half the price?

It costs a few thousand to throw a car in a shipping container, and the stealerships don't add 150k+.

  • That piece of crap car is gonna take on a 580 hp german beast????? They must be joking....

  • Holdan = CRAP!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @ppittaras21 Your spelling = CRAP!!!!! lol

  • 0-100kms in 4.6 secs @ 426kw....

my stock 2011 wrx is 195kw and does 0-100 in 0.1sec slower

i think they fucked their info up...

  • Comment removed

  • I hate they're accent soo baad, I HATE IT

  • @mtatam99 hahaha...this is coming from a person from Saudi Arabia...At least we don't sound like some monkey trying to hock up a golly..

  • @mtatam99 That's nice. Dont really like your accent either.

  • lol Bogandore vs. an Audi...

Kinda offensive to even have them in the same video.

  • CTS-V Wagon will blow it away

  • Ill get a ctsv wagon .....

  • If somebody do have that much money to buy Audi for 270 g they could just tune the exhaust system nut case.

  • this guy is such a bogan .__.

  • why should a man buy an Audi ??

i can't see a reason for it honestly.

for that price i can get,

    HSV Maloo

    2 Harley Davidson bikes

    a toyota corolla

and still save another 130000 $

  • @alagy Because the Man that car iearns 7 figure salary , and would not be seen dead in a Maloo on Harley or god forbid in a corolla. Its horses for courses, Commodore is aimed at average family man with kids and is a compromise of "bang for the buck" , Audi is the attempt at making the fastest station wagon possible, which could still live in the real world and money is no constraint. Personally for the price of Audi i take the M5 as family car.

  • @djole777

still, i can build a drag race car with that amount of money ..!!

would be much faster than that audi lol

  • @alagy - Why should a man buy an audi? Because he can afford to. If you're in the big bucks this isn't exactly going to break the bank.

  • @Leonis1989

    get a Cadillac V instead

  • @alagy - If someone can afford to and likes Cadillac then they probably will. That's the answer to your question. They buy these cars because they can afford it and they're interested. Me personally if I won the lottery I'd still want a cheap and cheerful run-around but there would be nothing stopping me from buying a DB9, Focus RS and a GTR to name a few.

If we were all using sensible logic we'd all be driving diesels with varying sizes dependant on our needs (e.g. kids, city driving etc)

  • This should not be called top gear

  • "niwtenmeter" haha :D

  • I do love Audi's, but I love HSV more! We have a HSv Clubsport sedan, IN BLACK! IT IS AWESOME!

  • fuck you Australian Import Tax.

  • Huh!!! you guys cant be serious!! why would you even bother this is like comparing quality and performance of a patek philippe to a seiko!!!

  • Audi #1

  • sigh...his reviewing skillz are terrible, why did they ever give an Australian an Audi

  • it's fifth gear faaiiil

  • @ccdjmechelen ahaha its not fith gear you faggot.

  • Wouldn't cost anything near 270 grand in the UK or USA.

Australian car prices are a complete and utter ripoff, nuff said.

  • @HFLanciaStratos i agree 100 %,, my dream car ( nissan gtr r35 2012 model ) is worth at about $180 000 here in aust., but in places such as the US it is only worth at around $85, 000

  • @RatedMCBee The C63 AMG and Porsche 911 both cost around 3 times here what they do in the US.

  • @HFLanciaStratos doesnt matter. you wanna own one you gotta pay for it. thats marketting

  • @geosnafu There's a reason you don't see that many nice cars in this country compared to the US; nobody wants to pay $350k for a car here that costs $150k in America, and even if they do, they just can't afford it. So the manufacturers are cheating themselves as much as they're cheating customers and people who just love to see a nice car drive past once in a while (such as myself).

  • @HFLanciaStratos well atm it wont be asmuch with the aussie dollar. however yeah your right its much more expensive over here. however we chose to live here so cant complain really.

ive got a audi s6 2008 model. thou i got nearly 100k of it. bought from the dealership. it was a year old. done 101 km on it and they knocked that much of. so haha. if your craving one. theres good deals.

  • @geosnafu Another thing too is that the manufacturers don't change their RRP based on currency.

Isn't 101 km delivery mileage on a great deal of cars? Lol.

I myself would grey import a used Ferrari 360 if anything; a little effort and you can have one for only a little more than it'd cost in the US.

  • @geosnafu I'd grey import it from the UK of course, so I could have it in RHD.

  • @HFLanciaStratos Its our f**king import tax, its horrible

  • @JnrDingo In part, yes, but even considering import tax (and LCT), there is no justification for a C63 or Porsche 911 costing nearly 3 times more than what it does in North America. The C63 shouldn't cost more than 100k brand new and the Porsche 150k at the absolute max (which is still just under twice as much as it costs in the US).

Luxury car tax is grade A bullshit though.

Even Aussie domestics are expensive - compare the Boss 302 to anything you can get here for 40 grand.

  • @HFLanciaStratos they are BMW M3 was skyrocketing close to 300 grand lol

  • @galbmw 300 grand... that's close to the price I could buy an Aventador for.

Fuck, I could even buy a Murcielago in this country for that.

  • @HFLanciaStratos yea its the import tax. its so freaking high its funny. i used to live in europe and i remember how cheap the supercars were there comparing to here. bentley continenta supersport is 700 grand i used to live next to italy so ferrari wasnt too expensive but when you see it here its woah. someone in a porsche here has the same status as someone that drives a koenigsegg in europe. lol even to get the HF stratos replica it costs over 60 grand.

  • @HFLanciaStratos I guess you never heard of currency or exchange rates. That's okay, it's not your fault. Maybe your teachers should have done a better job...

  • @2008PowerStrokeF450 What hole have you been living under? The Australian dollar is worth almost exactly the same as the American dollar.

If you're going to try and patronise someone, do it in a way that doesn't make you look like an ignorant fucking idiot.

  • @HFLanciaStratos So your saying, and this is from you, that at current exchange rates, the Audi RS6 wagon, costs $270,000 dollars. No no, your wrong, think logically, why would Audi price a wagon that costs more then there R8 5.2, hell, cost's more the Ferrari's? Think will ya...

  • @2008PowerStrokeF450 Yep. Audi price it and then it gets a few taxes thrown on top of it.

The exchange rate is, at present, completely irrelevant and not an excuse for the car costing several times what it does in the US.

  • @HFLanciaStratos Okay, that's all you had to say. But to me, it doesn't make sense to price a car that is probably beyond R8 territory. But then again, if the wagon cost's 270,000 then the R8 5.2 FSI prolly comes in at close to 500,000. Just mind boggling.

  • @2008PowerStrokeF450 The V10 R8 is 320k, and the wagon here is a tad under 260k apparently. I guess the stuff that goes into the wagon isn't too dissimilar... same engine etc.

  • @HFLanciaStratos Wow, gotta' love inflation, that's about the only thing I can come up with. But why is that the prices are that high? Tariff's or just ridiculous taxes???

  • @HFLanciaStratos try and visit Denmark ...

  • @HFLanciaStratos Thats the cost of living in the best part of the world bro!

  • @HFLanciaStratos Bro... u want to compare to my country? Before we buy a car we need to buy a piece of paper that cost nearly 70grand. And this car in my country cost at least 350grand!!

  • @HFLanciaStratos Not because of the Australian economy. It's because of the luxury car tax and the add on price that car company's also like to slap on our cars. Except for Holden and Ford.

  • @HFLanciaStratos That is because the average Australian earns a bloody lot of money. Everything cost more here but we also get paid more, would you rather live on 35 grand a year in America and buy things for less or live on 100 grand a year in Australia and pay more for the things you buy?

  • @Twiztidninjas I love how people actually try to use this pitiful excuse to justify Australians being ripped off. "Oh, well, some of you make twice what the average American does so uhh... yeah... you should all pay 3x more for your cars."

  • @Twiztidninjas you are an absolute retard. Our higher wages does not justify the high prices of products in our country

  • @onoff314 the reason why things cost so much is because there is so much tax on everything, and without that tax the roads you drive on would be even worse for one, police wages, ambulance, fire, teachers and doctors would all be earning less money and the roads would be in an even worse state than they currently are if you paid less tax. But you are right people employed by the government to keep you safe deserve to earn less money so you can buy a super car for 100 grand less.

  • @Twiztidninjas No... the import tariff is around 10% plus luxury car tax over 57K. it does not justify the price of an M3 being 60K in the US and 160K here

  • @HFLanciaStratos luxury tax to keep Aussie car companies going so we don't turn into a debt ridden country.

  • @madbob222222 Haha wow, I feel extremely sorry for you if you actually believe that.

Need I remind you what's happening to the Commodore in a few years?

Also, what cars do Australia produce that compete with say, Lamborghini or BMW's M series?

  • @HFLanciaStratos Ford falcon in aus is being dis continued, not the commodore.

  • @madbob222222 falcons arnt bein discontinued there in design of the 2016 atm holden may be dicontinuing the commodore

  • Haha a Twin Turbo V10 vs a V8.

  • @MagicMirror981 5L V10 vs a 6.2L V8, what's funny about this ?

  • @safuanedante Twin Turbo 5L V10...

  • @MagicMirror981 The original 5L Lamborghini V10 produced 500-530 hp and 510 Nm without Turbos. The 6.2L V8 produces a lot less than that.

    .

  • @safuanedante A twin turbo Lamborghini engine versus an old fashioned American V8... lol.

  • @HFLanciaStratos

    Lamborghini produced the 5L V10 between 2003 and 2007.

The LS3 V8 was introduced as the Corvette's new base engine for the 2008 model year.

The LS3 V8 isn't old fashioned, this engine is rubbish like all american engines.

  • @safuanedante It's a pushrod 2 valve per cylinder V8... very old fashioned compared to the high tech shit that comes from Germany, Italy and Japan.

  • dont ever buy a new car unless you plan on keeping it for a lifetime go buu a used rs6 for way cheaper

  • why the fuck would they put a v10 in a wagon

  • @jimbobbyrnes because its german

  • Get the RS6 and let it tune by MTM, then it will surely rip of the pants of that HSV!

  • @grimfaug666 It would rip of the pants of any car. 580 hp and 750 hp (tuned by MTM) is a big difference. But the same weight! I once saw a video were a RS6 MTM drove 351 km/h (218 mph)! It's as fast as a Ferrari Enzo!!!!!!!!!

  • my vw can also beat that holden!

  • TOP GEAR is FAKE

  • With 375kW of power and 640Nm of torque, the HSV W427 is the most powerful Australian-made car ever.

  • @javedkhan0258 nope 470KW HSV R8 by walkinngshaw or w/e 630 hp.. thats faster

  • ur a faken idiot.

  • Germans makes the best cars in the world! after them comes Japan.

    Audi !! <3

  • btw at the end was unfair challenge..no chance for that red van against v10 lamborghini ? :)))

  • @FLORINMX u cant compare V10 with V6 or V8 Engine cars. YOu cannot compare audi r8 with holden hsv

  • @javedkhan0258 that is exactly my point ! Maybe I wasn't so clear. Audi is a feared opponent (sorry for my english, is made by google translate :))))))

  • quattro is the name of the game :)

  • gee korean and american technoligy or german gee not hard to work out lol

  • @fordman351s yea, definitely the holden

  • Aussie cars, like American cars, are unrefined and downright stupid, whereas European cars, even the nutty ones like the RS6, are still sensible.

  • @wiebehoukes It's ok we all know euro cars are all slow.

  • @MsSloppyseconds Hahaha, ur funny xD European cars have always been, still are and will always be, the best cars in the world. And let's remind ourselves, where do all the proper supercar manufacturers (except for Corvette, obviously, which is made out of the same plastic as American newsreaders) come from? Porsche? Aston Martin? McLaren? Jaguar? Lamborghini? Maserati? Ferrari? And of course, Bugatti? All of them are European. We invented the car!

  • @wiebehoukes It's a well known fact that euro cars are slow and nasty.

  • @MsSloppyseconds Europe makes the best cars, just deal with it xD

  • @wiebehoukes Thats so true, also, Europes biggest car manufacturer, Volkswagen own many big car names like Bugatti, Lamborghini.. so yeah, Europeans have the best cars!

  • @pROTPANDA Japanese make better cars...I am from Europe and that is my statement...And i drive an Audi a6 c5

  • @ManuelFerara I don't care what you think.

  • @wiebehoukes It's seems that "you" also invented stupidity and arrogance. (I'm European too by the way.) Corvette is NOT a supercar, it's a sportscar with supercar performance at sportscar price, which beats the shit out of all of your Ferraris, Lambos, and Aston Martins (Three of my most favorite brands, but wtf, it is true the Vette does, even if in a very American way, i.e. horrid interior )

  • I cannot take this Bruce seriously after seeing him and the other Bruces be beaten by the proper Top Gear team.

  • @buttnut1080 What the fuck is a bruces?

  • @MsSloppyseconds Watch the top gear episode and you'll know.

  • that audi is ugly as shit. 200,000 id rather tune my holden.

  • Never doubt the Germans !

They precisely know what they are doing.......btw the Audi doesn't cost as much here in the UK.

  • these "hosts"make us aussies sound like fuckwits

  • The Holden profile and grill look an awful lot like the Dodge Magnum... funny a GM product looks like a Chrysler..

  • unfortunately no matter how much money you pour into it, it will always be an ugly shit cheap POS

  • lol a RWD try to drag with a AWD in a 1/4 mile race.... of cos audi will woop ya

  • i would take the holden and put 20 grand into the motor :)

  • What is a holden. Never heard of and never seen one for sale.

    /Love from Sweden :-)

  • @daniellandgrens a vauxhall sold in australia

  • thats so actualy true with german cars, it never feels as fast as you actualy driving. it is so easy to get a speeding tickets with them

  • the holden is the sickest car ever by far

  • I would take the Audi and order it without the RS6 badges on the outside.

You have the power to go if you want to go and you don't look like a chav / poser.

And you can use it for day to day life

  • its a V10 from germany not from lambo

  • @mitch231

    nah mate, that's a V10 from Lambo

  • @mitch231 It is, in fact a Lamborghini V10, only Audi adapted it and made it more civilised to be able to use it in an A6;) And even though they adapted it to such an extent that you can't really call it a Lambo-engne anymore, it does sound soooo much better to say so xD

  • 7:25 VTEC kicked in on the audi :P ahah

  • Comment removed

  • @at802 because a v10 audi saves so much petrol?

  • im sorry but in australia, a v8 wagon is second only to a v8 ute :D

  • Dont F*** with Audi!

  • his accent is horrible :|

  • how in the hell do u compare a V8 with a V10 twinturbo supercar engine? Wilkinshaw supercharger kit on the HSV... watch it tear the audi a new asshole haha

  • Alot of haters here can only talk sh*t about the car, the vid the presenter... .yah dah yah dah yah dah. Reason? They can't afford one.

  • Comment removed

  • He sounds so gay! had to turn the volume off

  • he is fucking retarded for ever thinkin a twin turbo gallardo engine in the worlds fastest station wagon was gonna get beat by ur average v8 commodore wagon thats a quarter of the price.

  • Song in the begining? anyone?

  • whats the AUD to USD conversion. i looked online but it tells me that this Audi is like 250 000 USD. that just sounds way too expensive.

  • @regdorsey1986 Australia has crazy taxes on new cars. There's probably some additional tax based on engine displacement or power..

  • hsv sucks

  • i dont care Audi is still gay and HSV is still f***ing crazy

  • @sirsplicer why so mad poorfag?

  • audi is only fast cause its twin supercharged v10 vs v8

  • @dogyslut07 it has 2 turbos, just correcting you.

  • 0 to 100 in 4.6 seconds! Get a postie ya peanut : )

  • I'd take the HSV!!

  • WHO the fuck needs a fucking v10 wagon?McClaren mp12 for what, 20 grand more, and then you have a twin turbocharged supercar and not look like my grandma

  • fuck this is boring...

  • well if you ask me i would get the holden and put $100,000 in the motor.. if thats possible. than it would fuck shit up

  • wtf does he keep looking ant the camara. focus on the damn road!

  • Stop talking in kilometers and kilowatts

  • @efc0106 thats how we measure in australia although i do believe horsepower is still thrown around a lot

  • @efc0106 Why?? It's an Aussie program...

  • @OlsVicDash So what, you use those units to make your cars sound faster than they are

  • @efc0106 HAHAHAHAHHA Have you heard of the metric system.... Most of the world is catching on.

  • @OlsVicDash You better get a move on then

  • @efc0106 We are metric mate, I think it's only England and the US left to catch up.

  • @OlsVicDash lol your still using kilometers. mate

  • HSV kicks arse

  • Buy the holden and put another $10'000 in the motor with the $200'000 you save and watch it tear the doors off the audi

  • @SLR5000GMH Then you stil dont have audi :)

  • @SLR5000GMH How about no.

  • @SLR5000GMH And after 100'000km you can throw it away while the Audi will do another 200'000...

  • @SLR5000GMH

Then you can look like all the other 5 million holden drivers out there and when you go to the city some greeny will come and take a dump on your hood.

  • @SLR5000GMH Won't happen bro. Haha. Moar powar doesn't always equal win.

  • @SLR5000GMH But it would take a lot more money to modify it into something you could call an Audi

  • @SLR5000GMH That's all fine and good but when the smoke clears you'd be stuck with by far the lesser car in terms of drivability, refinement, luxury, build quality, and style.

  • @SLR5000GMH i would expect that from a holden man, so you wanna drive shit compaired to engeerining prefection lol

  • @SLR5000GMH or you can buy an audi which will last and does not have plastic cheapy bits in it. after 50k kilometers the Vauxhall's going to fall appart. in all the travell i have done in europe i have it to have seen an australian car.....,

  • @theadizo That audi quality trope is old. Consumers are so slow to let go of stereotypes. In fact I've recently test drove a few VAG group cars and found there finish behind Mini, BMW and the new Criterion range (surprising).

Even the new Hyanudi's have excellent build quality and plastics and they aren't playing with a 7yr warranty.
