Alex Hannum(player/coach of the Hawks inserted himself into the game and threw the ball the length of the court...it hit the rim and Bob Pettit almost forced a thrid overtime...what we didnt see was Hannum throwing the pass.....
we need more classic voices like Johnny most and Chick Hern. These days every announcer black or white sounds generic. You got some rare breeds like marv albert, bon costos, gus johnson, who stand out. But i call it the Dan patrcik effect, ever since him, every man and women announcer sounds the polished and the same.
Heinson was a great player back in the day, but is one of the best announcers ever, purely for the fact that if the team facing the celtics does one little thing wrong, he makes fun of them for 10 minutes. If the celtics do anything wrong, he pretends like it didn't happen
At 0:22 that is the shot the St. Louis Hawks took in the final second to tie the game. Crazy how close they came to sending it to a 3rd overtime. Wow.
@thenintendogamer Yeah, the first dynasy that played without a shot clock and denied the opportunity for african americans to play in the league. Some dynasty.
@Ivantheterrible666 They did have black players, and even if they didn't have a shot clock they were the ones to win the most titles. Blacks were allowed by 1950 to play and if everybody including the NBA says they were the first dynasty then they were the first dynasty.
@thenintendogamer Okay and how many were allowed to play and where did they let them play? Which teams refused to sign them to contracts because they were black and said "we'll let that team sign him?" See, just because they let a few black guys in that makes everything alright and oki-doki. What a load... black players still dealt with segregation from the league during and after games, so what does letting a black man play show us except that it's most likely a publicity stunt?
@Ivantheterrible666 apparently alot since Bill Russell Elgin Baylor and Wilt Chamberlain were treated like stars while segregation was still going on.
@thenintendogamer Looking back, they are viewed as "stars," but the truth of the matter is quite from the contrary from modern day perception. You are familiar with the story of the Russell home invasion? How about the fact that many hotels and restaraunts denied service to teams with black athletes on them? Listen to the stories and read the biographies of these men; their stories tell a tale that is much darker than what we believe or are willing to believe as a society.
@Ivantheterrible666 Even darker than your nickname, mr. Ivan the Terrible "triple-six"? kidding aside, they were never the less players that did play in that era and the MPLS Lakers were the first real NBA Dynasty.
@thenintendogamer What does my nick-name have to do with anything? Get real. Your looking to "oh the NBA was an offical organization and the players played and so therefore they were a dynasty" is just pointing out a fact and not looking at the bigger picture... get outta here.

id love to see this 1957 celtics team battle against the 2011 Dallas Mavs. How great would that be
aaronschainm 6 months ago in playlist 60 Greatest Moments in NBA Playoff History
@aaronschainm It would be TERRIBLE. Basketball theory has changed SO MUCH since 1957, the two wouldn't be compatible at all.

@sumskater999 thats why it would be interesting fool.
