  • Well eventually she did agree with DiFi...in a video in March/2010, she stated at a conference she would vote yes for a public option.

  • One thousand dollars for a machine to read your blood at Quest Diagnostics.

Two thousand dollars for a cortizon shot if your knees are weak per knee. Surgery???

    MRI one thousand per picture.

Anyone taking prilosec at 30,000 per cent mark up?

  • why is America ranked 46th in the World in Health Care . Kool Aid , you all drink it

  • If you look at the standards we put on our health care and what other countries put on their health care then you would see how the rankings can be swayed. Example, if a baby dies at childbirth, we count it. Majority of the other countries do not. If a baby lives for days, we count it as a loss, they do not. Go beyond the rankings and look at the nuances of it. We can keep babies alive longer.

  • You need to get your facts straight; the low rankings on the study that you mention refer to cost, and administration, which are areas where the gov't is already involved. In the area of quality, availability, and time for treatment the US was at the top of the list; you should know/tell the whole story...don't be a fool....

  • By the way, US was ranked 37 of 190 (top 1/5th)....and that is compared to countries with pure socialist systems....plus we treat anyone that walks through an emergency room door (including 20 million illegals)...think about it, top 20% does that sound like something that is completely broken? The system could use many improvements, we could start with medicaid fraud which exceeds 30%...

  • Bring on Single Payer. It'll move the date of the Revolution up by 20 years. Britan and Canada are already backing away from their disasters. People with money won't suffer under the plan, only the poor; we'll go elsewhere and pay for the care we want like we always have and the poor will die in the waiting lines.

If that's what it takes to teach people how stupid it is to hand their futures over to politicians then so be it.

  • How can you trust this bitch, she received over 300,000 from the healthcare industry.

All of the Democrats including Obama are just the lap dogs of corporations. Single payer won't happen unless WE MAKE IT HAPPEN

  • LOL...she may think she's smart, but we know what she means when she says, that single payer isnt going to haoppen. Obviously, she is in favour of SP but as long as the public option competes iwth private, it will overtake the market, and SP will be eventually here. I'm for SP but i mean...its interesting how she's wording it, its pure politiking.

  • aabajk

  • Give the people a choice, and THEY WILL CHOOSE SINGLE PAYER. We're at 70% right now.

  • The new plan might co-exist peacefully with existing insurance companies until the people en masse flood to single payer, and the insurance companies sink quicker than the Titanic. How is that bad?

  • No one on the gov't health care plan has ever been denied a procedure they needed. When capitalist insurers can say the same then I'd support them. Until then the profit whores can kiss my a**. I've paid 6k a year for 10 yrs and been denied reimbersment more than they've paid out. Single payer is the only solution to ending the suffering.

  • "single payer is not going to happen" she has single payer we are paying for it. if she serves 2 1/2 years more she will have single payer for the rest of her life. give it to all of us or take it away from them.

  • "NAME ONE"?... I would go on to explain that every-time someone has ever paid for medical treatment it is using capitalism to incentivize advancement in health care, but you did a good job of that when you said "EVERYONE who trades his labor for money is a CAPITALIST. This includes Dr's and nurses."

I would say you haven't gone far enough with that statement Capital doesn't have to be money anyone who consentingly trades there labor, money, knowledge, goods or potential for any thing.

  • Capitalism in health care:

"oh wait, you're sick? Well I can't make a profit off of you, so just die then, you commie bastard"

  • Capitalism inspired most of the modern advancements in healthcare. with out the incentive of profit, we would not see innovation and many more people would be sick and die.

  • @hello: "Capitalism inspired most of the modern advancements in healthcare"

Really?! NAME ONE EXAMPLE. And no, I would not consider boner pills and treaments for baldness great advances in healthcare.

Seems to me you are simply committed to an ideology instead of to reason and facts. The fact is that ALL of the advances in science are due to the work of SCIENTISTS, not investment bankers.

That said, EVERYONE who trades his labor for money is a CAPITALIST. This includes Dr's and nurses.

  • this whole healthcare fight is showing just how deep in the pockets the democrats are. republicans we already knew about. but for all the dems stumping on affordable healthcare, they finally get a shot and the water it down for their insurance industry masters.

  • Single payer is NOT ON THE TABLE!!!!!!!! WTF is she talking about???????????

  • The fact that she called Single Payer an idea of "the far left" disgusts me. Anyone WITH A BRAIN would be for Single Payer if they looked at the FACTS.

  • I guess 72% of Americans who are in favor of single payer are from the so called "far left" as well.

  • Your numbers came from where? Someplace dark and smelly?

  • New York Times poll

  • Indeed. I'm a libertarian and I'm all for single-payer. It works well for politicians and the military (which I got to enjoy for some years).

If lobbyists for big insurance and big pharma manage to scuttle this effort, I say to hell with this so-called "capitalist" society.

  • Bravo !!!

  • Yea these congresspeople are pissing me off. The message must be clear, if you vote against a public option YOU WON'T MAKE IT PAST YOUR NEXT ELECTION.

  • works REAL WELL for medicare! So well, that an old repub lady, duiring a town hall, asked bush sr. NOT to let the govt. take over medicare .............

  • Ask a retired vet how he/she likes his/her Tricare. 10 to 1 says they all love it. That's the kind of care we should all be getting.

One old, republican lady isn't quite enough to convince me. All of the republicans in Congress get similar coverage, and I don't see them bitching about it.

  • And you think we will get the same as gov't. Now that is funny. Care will be rationed. Gov't loves dependent Americans. Individual, independent people they tax to death and demonize.

  • I know we would. People like you -- who are too afraid of seeing this become a reality -- are filled with delusions created by the very industries that a public option will demolish.

How about dependent companies, sucking off the tit of the individual tax payer? You think we individuals should suffer because big companies may have to pay more? Quit watching Faux News and learn the reality of the situation.

  • I did not support and do not support corporate welfare either. And in reality, if big companies pay more...how do they pay for it? Cut jobs, raise prices, move overseas. How about a more efficient gov't, slimmed down and lean?Any ideas from MSNBC, Huffington Post, Daily KOs or from the communist manifesto?

  • I certainly agree that a more efficient government is the panacea. But companies would not have to pay more for insurance if the profit motive were removed from the insurance industry. If big insurance and big pharma can afford to pay $1 million per day to sink a public option, they must be ripping off their customers pretty handily. Think about all of those years you may have paid for premiums...only to go year after year without filing a claim. Where do you think all that money goes?

  • Capitalism should not be the focal point when it comes to people's health! I find this absolutely appauling and morally objectionable that we are still having this debate!

  • What the country needs an deserves is a single payer health care plan with everyone in and no one left out This is not a question of "left vs. right" it's is what is in the best interests of the entire country across all political lines. A sick democratic is just as sick as a sick republican and both deserve a single payer health care system with everyone in and no one left out.

  • Diane?!? That's Senator Feinstein to you Claire!!

  • Damn us bastards on the Left! We just aren't ready to give everything to the insurance companies as both Dems & the GOP want.

  • McCaskill's a fuckin idiot. She's probably receiving private health insurance lobbyist money. Like Tom Dachelle and other Blue Dog conservative Democrats.

  • Wrong, McCaskill is in favor of a public option and supports it 100%. I agree a lot of Dems do, and Daschle isnt even in office but your right he did. McCaskill doesnt shes right on!

  • I really hope McCaskill supports public option. Me personally, I support single payer. But I guess the public option is a start for something promising as it relates to health care reform.

  • SINGLE PAYER

  • Ailton

  • I think it is time to leave the NeoCons out of it. Give the people what they want [Majority] And stop pampering those ass wipes.

  • i don't think it will happen. repukkkes have this country in a strangle hold. they don't WANT what the majority needs, let alone wants. because then they would lose power.

Real patriots would start thinking about taking conservadem senators out of this loop.

They're gonna kill us all, at least our kids.

  • Gov't health care rational is going to kill us all. They do so well with the railroad, post office, and social security. all in the read and running a negative...sucking this country dry. Let's just add another trillion to the mix. Nice. Stand up and be independent and free instead of dependent and slave to the gov't.

  • "Gov't health care rational is going to kill us all"

Except that it is not government healthcare rationing, it is simply a public option for HEALTH INSURANCE.

It has nothing to do with hospital administration, and certainly nothing to do with "rationing"!

  • The health care corporations will NEVER allow a public option. NEVER. Don't get your hopes up. It will not happen. They know they cannot compete.

    SINGLE PAYER NOW!!!

  • yah, they're paying off Feinstein to vote no.

i reeeeeeeeeeeelly wonder if Obama has the balls

  • SINGLE PAYER!

  • i cant understand why people that call themselves "pro-life" are against public healthcare.

  • They aren't really "pro-life" since the vast majority of them support the death penalty and foreign wars. They are just anti-choice.

  • RepuKKKes fight for you up to the moment of birth .... after which they COMPLETELY and UTTERLY abandon you .... no welfare, no foodstamps, nothing for their future slaves

  • If you are on welfare, food stamps, are you not a slave to someone else, to the system. Every time "repukkkes" have had the power did they take all that away from your hand out, dependent self. Try being truly free and independent. That is what this country was founded on...not handouts and whoa is me. Those truly in need always get enough. Those who abuse the system should get kicked to the curb.

  • "Those truly in need always get enough"

    No they don't.

When you are classified by the insurance industry as "uninsurable", you have no freedom. If you get sick, you are screwed. Now that's what I call a real "death panel".

At the very least, some form of public option needs to exist.

  • The tagline for this video is misleading TPMTV, very disappointed in you guys for that. Usually y'all aren't careless.

  • I concur.

  • i concur and note that this is the THIRD vid that has that in the last hour.

  • How much money has been raised for the two wars the US is engaged in 0 right.

How can you fund universal health care when the country is broke and the wars are taking up any hope of reform ?

I think you guys should lay off the fast food you're living in la la land.

  • It would actually help a lot of people and save a lot of money over the years and I think that's where you are wrong, though I won't argue with you about it on youtube. Just saying....

  • 1776 Gold $20 oz (Capital doesn't go up in value, and is pegged so you can measure the economy)

2009 Gold $1000 oz if the money system (capital) was sound gold would be US $20 oz.

Sure universal health care is a worthy goal but you have to be realistic on the costs , in Canada its a descent system but we are already double taxed and still we're loosing ground on service and costs. To have a chance this Empire mentality that the government has ,has to be stopped. (WAR)

  • There is no money for any of these crazy initiatives, The usd is tanking, we borrow money from China to bomb Afghanistan, this is la la land .We have been sold out by our leaders."both sides" The int. bankers own us now.

  • 1971 Nixon a crook and traitor to his people is pardoned but not before he ended gold backing of the US dollar.

Even then he said no big deal as long as the American people buy "Made in the USA".

All world leaders are in on it , doesn't matter what country having a pure fiat money system is total insanity. Sure the US dollar doesn't need gold backing but there's not way it should have continued to be world reserve. The money supply can't go to 0 like its going to. Shame on world gov.

  • Yes ,Bretton woods was a travesty ,but how else to finance war and welfare? sow the wind ,reap the whirlwind

  • again with the cowardice! dude, just admit here that you;re a repub. just be clear, have some balls

There IS too money, if we start paying doctors a salary, instead of 50 bucks for 5 mins of looking and humming.

Oh wait: they studied long and hard. Well I say:

    No more!

Because ... they're not worth it!

  • we are all ready facing the problem of our doctors leaving the states after there education to receive the high wages offered elsewhere. If we were to institute a salary, we would lose our qualified doctors and lower the quality of medical care for everyone.

  • if doctors are leaving to go elsewhere, they're not worth their citizenship, so take their passports.

also, you can easily attach a duty period of 5-10 years to any medical degree. breaking this law would result in fines like 60 percent of estimated salary.

And DUH! the braindrain still flows TO the USA, not away. Even if iit didn't, well, GOTCHA! USA has been stealing our brains for far too long, it's PAYBACK!!
