Well Veterinary hospitals stay in business and they are charging money I can afford for my dog. That is one example of Free Market style Health of animals.
For the life of me, I don't understand how people resist the concept of reducing costs by utilizing market forces. These people bitch about high costs, then try to solve it with subsidization, of all things. Economic illiteracy is destroying our country.
Americans don't save a single paycheck they cant afford even the tests, that's why there's insurance. Without government support people would die from health care costs. The thing is almost nobody would buy insurance if they didn't have to and suffer as a result
That decision by them is THEIR decision, however. It is not your responsibility, nor the governments, to pay for someones DECISION to not provide themselves healthcare.
If your neighbor DECIDES to put in a swimming pool instead of repairing his car that broke down, it's not your job to drive him to work or pay for his cab, right?
It's not mine either.
A free market would drive healthcare costs WAY down, by the way.
@cheesebone82 Too many people would die and that would be terrible for society. If the government can educated people for twelve years it can keep it's literate population alive. Most people don't buy life insurence either, you can't depend on insurence.
If 12 years of government education can't teach you to spell "insurance" correctly then I'm pretty sure they can't provide decent health care for you either.
@cheesebone82 I am from Canada, I went to great public schools but didn't learn perfect spelling because I spent elementary school in French emersion. Canada has great public education. Canada's health care system falls below international standards( 2cd worst) because unlike most countries it's slightly more than half the cost as the American health care system as a percentage of GDP.

Second that - Please get rid of this noise you have at the beginning of the videos. I'm not sure what it's for. But good Schiff videos anyhow.
