@mamalovedlavender I have seen it around at some stores. But, I mostly grow it from seed. When the temperatures are very high, basil seed will usually germinate quickly. I have trouble with seed sometimes and I just figure they are too old.
do you have a dehydrator? if you wanted to dry them in pieces not large enough to hang up, that might be an option. I have a nice one but I move around so much I don't get to use it for garden harvests :(
@Plum369 You know...I do have a really nice dehydrator! I will have to try it sometime for my herbs. It has 9 trays and holds a ton of food. I like to use it when I have many things I can dry at the same time (it uses up alot of electricity). I think I will use it next year for basil, I always have too much basil!
Grass clippings make a nice mulch to protect lettuce and herbs from splash back dirt when it rains. It ALWAYS amazes me how much dirt splashes up in a rain. I think oregano is one of the few herbs that is better dry than fresh.
Debs....who keeps her extra herbs in bags in the dresser. There will be trouble if I ever get raided by the fed.
@LavenderDebs I need to try mulching next year. There was no need in my SFG, everything stayed nice and clean. I like it better dry too! I keep my extra herbs in little baggies too, but I just have them laying around on the counter. Uh Oh! OMG! What must our guests think!????!!!! LOL
very nice thanks 4 sharing

where do you get your thai basil? I have never seen it when I'm looking to grow herbs. I have never had any luck growing basil from seed.
