Wouldn't be surprised if ghost balloon was the carbon of the former balloon being heated up to incandensent temperatures. You might say but the exploson happening inside the balloon would rip it to pieces. Well I suspect the balloon IS ripped into a good many pieces, and a fair bit of the gas mixture escapes BEFORE the pieces start to shrink. also explains the "halo" flame. It's probably hydrogen burning with atmospheric air, when the flame front catches up with it
@explosivefreak666 The explosion may have taken place after the shutter opened, and was exposed to the image of the balloon. Without a better camera, a lot of these things end up having funny effects like this, and look unreal.

I've done this before and it is VERY loud. Louder than a shotgun. I'm just glad the cops didn't show up and inquire about the noise.
