the head IS ridiculously big... and if you open it up, almost all empty space. I took the chassis out and it's all sealed, and very compact. I gave away the box. now I have a killer head in a tight package. this amp sounds good on distortion/gain but i gotta tell ya, the clean is amazing. if you are put off by the fako appearance, just ditch the particle board box.
might be getting this amp head w/ the kustom quad box as an xmas present but have to wait till march to receive it, i think you got a pretty good tone, bit mushy but im sure its alot more clear in real life(recordings can mush stuff up)
Great Sound. I´m thinking about buy this head widt Kustom Quad cab. Will it be better? But.. why the part from 0:53 has so much better sound? Different EQ?
dude go for the kustom cab, this head sounds way much better with the kustom cabinet, and no way dude i sucked that day at playing bc of the crappy unadjusted guitar i had, but thanx anyway
yeah is that a 410 Cabinet?!? (Four 10" Speakers)...Back in the day, my father was running a Marshall 410 Slant Cabinet with a Marshall Lead 100 Mosfet Head...Now all he runs is Vintage Fender Tube Amps; Original 1965 Fender Bandmaster Head (Blackface), Original 1965 Fender Bassman Head (Blackface), Original 1969 Fender Bassman Head (Silver Face), 1965 Fender Twin Reverb 212 (Blackface), 1967 Deluxe Reverb 112, 2005 Fender Blues Junior Tube Amp, etc...& I run the Solid State Amps over 2 412 Cabs
well if you use an amp modeling fx unit like pod xt it should sound pretty sweet, but you can also go for cheap and buy a metal zone or something like that
Well the secret for a metal distortion is cutting down the mids(actually not a secret),this amp can give you a nice metal sound as you heard on this video but it still lacks a bit of metalness so i use an electro harmonix Metal Muff distortion pedal when i play with it, i made this video using a crappy ibanez gax75 with stock pups and the amp's distortion only, i use dimarzio's and active EMG but when i made the video i only had that guitar at hand.
Having trouble with playing guitar? You suck man. no offense.

xstereofishx 2 years ago

thedeem0N 2 years ago
yep, 4x10 , i play that model, and that is not so good as 4 x 12.

Great sounding amp. You should try it with the Seymour Duncan SFX-03 Twin Tube Classic Preamp Pedal.

Not finding fault with your playing but the amp sounds very "Woffie"mushy low end with not alot of definition mabey it's the cab??
flyinbryan63 3 years ago
Maybe its a youtube video, not a spike jonez joint, silly dood.
xcontrouble 3 years ago
its because the mids were at 1, to get a heavier sound
xstereofishx 3 years ago

metallord789 4 years ago
thanx dude, yeah i suck, i started working to buy my gear, got outta college and now i cant play because of my job, that sucks!
xstereofishx 4 years ago
Im thinking of buying that head or not maybe with a metal pedal from Boss.
I think with a multifx the sound would be terrible wouldnt it?
bLACKSHADOr 4 years ago
well if you use an amp modeling fx unit like pod xt it should sound pretty sweet, but you can also go for cheap and buy a metal zone or something like that
xstereofishx 4 years ago
because some people in forums said it hasnt enough gain for harder metal styles.
Which pickups do u use?
bLACKSHADOr 4 years ago
Well the secret for a metal distortion is cutting down the mids(actually not a secret),this amp can give you a nice metal sound as you heard on this video but it still lacks a bit of metalness so i use an electro harmonix Metal Muff distortion pedal when i play with it, i made this video using a crappy ibanez gax75 with stock pups and the amp's distortion only, i use dimarzio's and active EMG but when i made the video i only had that guitar at hand.
xstereofishx 4 years ago
did u use any kind of pedal or multifx to get that sound?
bLACKSHADOr 4 years ago
no fx dude, setting for the lead channel: Balls or gain: 10, Boost: on, Low: 9, Mid: 0, Preamp: grind or usa, High: 7 and volume was at like 3 or 4.
