Capital Punishment is much more expensive than LWoP (life without parole.) When you factor in the time on Death Row, the appeals, lawyers, and legal fees - the cost of the execution itself (chemicals, scheduling, medical fees) it becomes exponentially more expensive.
In fact, many states have gotten rid of Capital Punishment simply because they can no longer afford it.

we're talking about the documentary, are we? whatever happens to other people does NOT apply in this situation. if you're looking for a defense argument with prisoners defending themselves against others or sympathy reasons, you are using the WRONG documentary and the WRONG person. even his lawyer cannot defend him in court because he's as guilty as charged.

i don't understand why people keep using this documentary as some sort of anti-death penalty argument or against the prison system. i'm an anti death penalty man myself but can you seriously convince the executioner of this man or others who have done premeditated murders like him to escape execution or prison time even.
and the system and prison never failed him, he failed himself. no matter how much rehabilitation an inmate can get, it's all up to them. he showed that he's inredeemable

and the guards are not the one that stabbed larry blackmon 67-70 plus times. it was troy kell. i'm surprised that this guy still has appeals or is still living rather. i honestly believe that he'll get something way worse than what happened to his victims, in fact i hope he does too. maybe get his head chopped off or disemboweled or die a slow painful death.

here's some real facts. there's no proof that james kelly was a pedophile. you can't rely on troy kell and sandy shaw's words especially since they were convicted of his murder.
he could have been sentenced to death for his first murder had the prosecutor seeked the death penalty.
for the second murder, it was premediated. he plotted the murder with two other inmates.
the facts are all there. no need to ignore them.

I beleive that the prison guards set the whole thing up and like an idiot, he goes after the guy, it WAS a kill or be killed situation but he shouldn't do time for it, the guards who allowed that shit should. it's a shame, 'cause he's very handsome. but don't forget, he already killed someone.

it still doesn't matter. troy kell, eric daniels and some other guy planned the murder of lonnie blackmon. eric daniels forging lonnie blackmon's signature, troy kell getting a makeshift key to unlock his handcuffs and shank to kill blackmon. there's no denying that this was a planned, premeditated murder. this was NO kill or be killed incident. troy kell got involved in another person's beef. and yes, lonnie was unarmed and still in handcuffs.

the preview forgets to mention that Bloackmon and Kell had already said they would finish each other and that as soon as Kell walked into the medics Blackmon charged at him, kell set it up but it was still a kill or be killed situation.. now troy kell is looked upon like an animal.. what a joke. i dont think murder is ok but i bet if we were put in Troy kells situation i know for a fact i would have done the same.
