Such tasty drumming. Mick had so much judgment. Keeping it simple despite stunning abilities. To me, most bands have one person that is absolutely central to their sound even though you don't necessarily realize it at first. Rolling Stones - Keef; Zep - Bonzo. Dead - Phil Lesh. Fleetwood Mac -- definitely Mick Fleetwood. Not saying the other folks aren't important, but there is that one element that is their essence.
i swear this is straight up metal, if u changed the amps, the way the guitars are tuned, and how they mixed it, it would be totally metal. it really takes off at 4:11
I can't stop watching this video. I'll watch Stevie the whole time, then have to watch it again and just watch Lindsey and then so on till I've wasted over an hour.
Fleetwood Mac is one of the most epic rock bands ever....and this band has withstood so much, yet it's tough to think of them as anything other than the 5 performers right there on that stage. Primo!
Stevie has got it going on, no doubt, but my heart has "Christine" engraved on it. She drives the blues side of the Fleetwood Mac bus, you know? Lord, to get to enjoy this live all over again - just one more time!
This Buckingham versus Greeny get a little bit annoying. I admire both guitar players. Buckingham is part of the more famous version of FM, but he's also much more underrated than Green, who's got the critical acclaim. He has that incomparable fingerpickingstyle. But I am also a very big fan Danny Kirwan, who was part of Green's FM, but also of the beginning of the so-called mid-period (with Bob Welch, C.McVie). He is probably more underrated than any FM guitarplayer.
@obscurebandfan Yep, I saw the original band a few times. Green was brilliant but Danny Kirwan had this edge that made the whole thing work. very underated player
Well, Peter Green composed the original song. But this is a completely reworked version, with only a slight resemblance to the original. I guess you're aware that Peter did the same with some old blues songs. So, let's judge the merits of this version, arranged by Buckingham and C. McVie, who vocally sound stunning together harmonizing.
Hey Lindsey fan. Lindsey couldn't have been friendlier, kinder or more genuine when " the brave " and I met him after the opening night of the Rumours tour in London ( Rainbow Theatre ) . We were catching a little plane out of a tiny airport the next day when he walked right in front . I told him we'd loved the band since the Green days and he took us to meet the band. " Perfect" Mac and Fleet and Stevie seemed eager to hear our take on the new disc . They invited us to see them in AmDam.
@MrScottmc Great story!!!! Did you take any pics? Bummer they didn't have any mobile phones with built-in cameras in those days.....and....did you see them in AmDam?
Christine Perfect is just Perfect!!!! BTW: Is the Midnight Special with Fleetwood Mac concert for sale? Not just this one, but all the songs they performed?
The kimono was a must so when a cocaine enema was needed they could slip to side of stage and have one inserted without having to drop trou or powder thier nose
I love this! these guys were so great together. Stevie Nicks is the sexiest woman to ever step foot on a stage.period! she makes madonna and beyonce look like amateurs in that department
This band inspires me to do great things and reach my full potential! Lindsey inspires me to learn guitar and Stevie and Christine inspire me to explore the more intricate textures of vocal music.
There is no one else like Lindsey Buckingham, whether with Fleetwood Mac or solo. I've seen him both ways and his enthusiasm and appreciation for the audience is remarkable! Love him!!!
Bands go through changes in both members and the style of music they make. "Fleetwood Mac" was no exception to that rule. Depending on who you are, each era of the Mac provokes strong reactions from it's fans. Whether it's the early blues period led by Peter Green, through to transitional period of Bob Welch, then the California pop/rock super era of Lindsey Buckingham & Stevie Nicks......
Throughout it all, the Mac grew, evolve and incorporated different elements thanks to ALL it's members!
I thought the authors of this song were Christine Mcvie/Lindsey buckingham. I got one of their greatest hits cd and the liner notes say CM/LB. I do not know how or if Peter Green is involved int his song.
my thought on this.i love the blues part of chrissie mc vie.not the best voice i've ever heard but the depth of spirit can't be denied.i guess thats why i think she's one of the most special people in rock
my thought on this.i love the blues part of chrissie mc vie.not the best voice i've ever heard but the depth of spirit can't be denied.i guess thats why i think she's one of the most specil people in rock
...Not only that but I applaud Lindsey for really making this band something completely different and succeeding. Can you imagine any other band going through so many line up changes and still being so successful? Just think if a band like Led Zeppelin had replaced Plant & Page... Nobody would've given a shit about Led Zeppelin anymore. Fleetwood Mac not only did just that, but they did it multiple times and in some ways became even bigger. I think what they accomplished was pretty awesome.
Why can't people just separate the Buckingham-Nicks Mac and Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac? I personally prefer Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac too but these are basically two different bands. The Fleetwood Mac we see here was going in a completely new direction and what's wrong with that? I personally think its great and it shows nothing but respect for Peter Green and all the members inbetween. They are not up there trying to copy his style or continuing to make money off of his name
An amazing freak coincidence of talent, especially their voices which blend so perfectly ... when you compare this version of Fleetwood Mac with the earlier ones, you can see they where fast on their way to obscurity, and then along came Stevie and Lindsey, and the whole thing just made sense: it was lightening in a bottle.
"Rhiannon" ,"Say That You Love Me" and "Landslide" may have been well known from the FLEETWOOD MAC album (1975), but "World Turning" stands on its own as a great track. Kick ass bass work from John McVie along with Lindsey Buckingham's guitar work. This track should've been released as a single because Christine McVie and Buckingham are great together.
Christine, Stevie, Lindsey and Mick play so well together. None of them even try to steal from the other's thunder. They're all great performers. What an awesome band!
lol i thought this was a cover/remake of greeney's world keep on turning :) but it's nothing like it this one is good too i guess... i love the band in this format (stevie is great) but no lineup can hold a candle to the original Dirty Mac. Peter Green is the REAL supeRnatuRaL!!!
@PaulXPZ ~ I'm sorry, but I don't agree with you. I NEVER cared for Peter Green or his music. There's no one else like Lindsey. This is just my own personal opinion though. (:
@biglindseyfan77 - why's there gotta be a best version of the band? I really dig each iteration. The "bridge" band with Bob Welch made some great, ethereal music with tremendous grooves. I dig em all on their own merits.

@ALTERED13TH There Ya Go Man....Lindsey so underrated ...NEVER got his acolades and the praise he deserves !!! He IS an amazing guitarist !!!!!! One of my favorites !!!! He so damn good !!!!! I would have love to been him at 75 -77-78-79!!!!! What a BLAST it must have been !!!! Thanks Lindsey and the entire band!!!!!!
I would kill to have Buck's fingerclaw picking ability.. I can play fairlywell but my God.. My buddies dont understand my taste in music.. I blame my father and a good amount of drugs ,,
I loved The Midnight Special with Howlin' Wolfman Jack.I use to "tape" record the show by putting the micrpophone up to the speaker of the t.v..I was way ahead of my time.lol
plus so great to see Mick up front with a flourish and John Mcvie treating us all, as always, to supreme base playing, and darling Christine, and the ever stunning stevie nicks, sighs, simpers, man they had it all
hey j, long time no speak, hope you are well, will message a real message soon, its gone 1am and I'm just getting some lindsey before I go to my bed and dream. i think you should get a MEDAL for your services to Fleetwood Mac and Lindsey. I'm obsessed with Law and Order at the moment. Just to add this is a blinding clip!!!!! Lindsey at the start is like witnessing the first most perfect moment a man was created and put on this earth, ha ha ha, god he never stops rat-a-tat-tatting on my soul
Thanks for both of your comments. I LOVED what you had to say about Lindsey!! I feel the same way about him. (lol) Great to hear from you again!! Keep in touch. (:
I love them soooooooooooooooooooo much!. My heroes!. Have been a fan since i was 11.. Now im 20 and for the first time im going to their concert!!!.. Im sooooooo happy cant wait till its october!...
the shear impact of lindsay buckingham and stevie nick's contribution to fleetwood mac is clearly excemplified in this video . the great vocals of the buck's nick's partnership outshines the effort of christine mcvie . lyndsey and stevie are the embodiement of fleetwood mac !
This incarnation of Fleetwood Mac is great, the most successful commercially, but the embodiment of FM? Try watching Peter Green, the original embodiment of cool, the best white blues guitarist ever. I dig Lindsey Buckingham, though, too. Great voice, excellent songwriter. The brains behind this version of the Mac.
@dec222222 If you like the contribution of Stevie & Lindsey, you might want to try and find the one & only album they did together as the Buckingham-Nicks Band, shortly before joining Fleetwood-Mac Not too many great tracks on it, but as a whole was an awesome outing!!!
I can't wait till June 5th when they are in Saskatoon !!!.....this is the best video of World Turning - thanks for posting it !!...look how young Stevie is...just a baby!!...Mick looks so young too...having the time of their lives - I wonder if they thought they would still be touring at 60 years old.........and still be selling out concerts and sounding so GOOD !!!!!!??

plus so great to see Mick up front with a flourish and John Mcvie treating us all, as always, to supreme base playing, and darling Christine, and the ever stunning stevie nicks, sighs, simpers, man they had it all

hey j, long time no speak, hope you are well, will message a real message soon, its gone 1am and I'm just getting some lindsey before I go to my bed and dream. i think you should get a MEDAL for your services to Fleetwood Mac and Lindsey. I'm obsessed with Law and Order at the moment. Just to add this is a blinding clip!!!!! Lindsey at the start is like witnessing the first most perfect moment a man was created and put on this earth, ha ha ha, god he never stops rat-a-tat-tatting on my soul

the shear impact of lindsay buckingham and stevie nick's contribution to fleetwood mac is clearly excemplified in this video . the great vocals of the buck's nick's partnership outshines the effort of christine mcvie . lyndsey and stevie are the embodiement of fleetwood mac !

@dec222222 Don't forget Peter Green. Pete wrote Santana's Black Magic Woman.
