What I've observed, via You Tube, not in person, are some protestors not being polite; confronting & failing to take an order.
While I understand the frustration remember these officers aren't the issue & pointing cameras on them, arguing with them, not vacating when ordered too is doing a disservice to the protestors who act their ages, not their shoe sizes, & are having their voices heard, representing many of us that witnessed crimes by parts of the federal govt.
How can America preach democracy and freedom when they won't even let there own citizen’s exercise that right. These occupiers are protesting a great injustice and yet they are the one's getting arrested, not the insider traders on Wall Street and in Congress who used tax monies to make billions, not the CEO's who stole Billions and Millions from investors
I'm pretty sure that Obama after seeing these events as others like it across the nation, will tell us how upset he is in the next Presidential address.

I do not think it has reached that point quite yet, but I believe it is entirely possible that it will fade from memory. @dnn112233 The reason nothing is happening is because the other side doesn't see the protest, or the protesters, as a threat. The protesters are seen as an annoyance, nothing more. Some guy shouting "occupy wall street" is considered fluff for the media. This protest will never go anywhere without blood shed. The rich have declared war on the poor, and the poor are giving up without a fight. They will take your home from you, and then rent it back to you for a profit.

The civil rights movement, although an entirely different movement, was never violent. I have no idea, but do you think the results would have been different if civil rights protesters were violent? I agree that OWS needs to do something different, but I fear that violence might make the police brutality and media coverage appropriate.

What has happened with this movement is exactly what I thought would happen, it's accomplishing nothing. The major news services have little if any coverage of the protests, and what coverage they do have is mocking at best. These protests will fade away and no one will even remember them in 5 years. The protests were allowed to go on until they were everyday news, then the arrests started. The protesters will be made the bad guys by the media. The people in power will prevail. Bad guys win!
Anyone that still supports these police and what they are doing should literally be taken out into a field with everyone else that thinks like them to be shot in the head. What I've observed, via You Tube, not in person, are some protestors not being polite; confronting & failing to take an order.
While I understand the frustration remember these officers aren't the issue & pointing cameras on them, arguing with them, not vacating when ordered too is doing a disservice to the protestors who act their ages, not their shoe sizes, & are having their voices heard, representing many of us that witnessed crimes by parts of the federal govt.

The civil rights movement, although an entirely different movement, was never violent. I have no idea, but do you think the results would have been different if civil rights protesters were violent? What has happened with this movement is exactly what I thought would happen, it's accomplishing nothing. The major news services have little if any coverage of the protests, and what coverage they do have is mocking at best. These protests will fade away and no one will even remember them in 5 years. The protests were allowed to go on until they were everyday news, then the arrests started. The protesters will be made the bad guys by the media. The people in power will prevail. Bad guys win!

But the point I am trying to make is some people are completely indoctrinated against the ideals of freedom and liberty and therefore are actually traitors to the American Constitution because of this. Not after Wall St., which is vital to keeping our nation alive. Like it or not, those banks HAD to be bailed out, or else we'd be in a Great Depression. This movement is a failure in completing what it intended to do, I have yet to see where it has succeeded in getting Wall Street money out of politics. Also, I'm surprised the police haven't evicted them from the ports, but hey, it appears to have had little affect on trade. Besides, what about the port workers jobs?

These people have a spot on message when it comes to lobbying in politics and the federal reserve. I am optimistic for Occupy's future because I feel that there are legitimate issues be addressed and all it takes is people doing independent research into the issues mentioned to wake up and get angry enough to stand in solidarity.
