Resolution 181 was NOT BINDING, and furthermore, the refusal by the Arabs to accept the resolution rendered it null and void.
Aded to this, the Arab neighbors launcehed a strike to destroy Israel's move to nationhood, resulting in the loss of lives and land, so the ceasefire lines were far from what Resolution 181 had put forth.
The 2 state solution is Israel and Jordan, and Jordan has no legal claim to the Disputed Territories.

And that is why all of today Israel is Israel's by international law and no amount of 181, 194, 242, 273, 303, 356, 393....1000, 1002, 1003...1123, 1125, 1126, and much much more are not worth the paper and ink wasted on them.

@Moreofthesamez 1 partition was only a recommendation and not international law. 2. the San Remo conference (1920) has already established that the land was suppose to go to a Jewish state alone. The Arabs got Syria and Iraq. 3. a peace treaty between the Arabs and the Jews was signed in 1920 before the conference where the Arab leadership recognized Zionism and Jewish sovereignty over Israel. 4. When the Arabs attacked in 1947 the recommendation became a UN joke.

@hudes303 Wrong, a representative of the British Government, Arthur Balfour, simply wrote a letter of intent to Chaim Weizman, there was no legal status to the letter - it implied that the Jews settled in the Palestine Mandate would be living in a Jewish Homeland.
It was only when the UN issued Resolution 181, that the reality of a Jewish Nation came into existence - her existence was challenged by Arab neighbors, and she succeeded in establishing borders, really: ceasefire lines.

Balfour Dec. is meaningless. So is the UN partition and 242. The land belongs to Israel.

@hudes303 no, it was in 1920 that the world conference established international law. It created in San Remo (conference) Bulgaria, Poland, Syria, Iraq, and a Jewish State. A British trusteeship was established and mandated to give the land to the Jews (based on international law). However this mandate was largely ignored for 27 years when the UN voted on partition (which was not legal and not binding.) After a war the Jews took control over 20% of the land originally and legally given to them

Since Israel is a nation, recognized by others, with an established government and territory, it is a legitimate member of the nations of the world.

So, the 2 state solution is Israel and Jordan.

You might know the period (1920-1948) as the British Mandate (by the LoN and UN to give the land to Jews) The only eviction of ethnic groups took place by Arabs against Jews (and cheered by Arabs in chanting Khybar Khybar Ya yahud) History did not begin in 1948.

@deMoutonnoir the Arabs did not have sovereignty over the land. Sovereignty belonged to the Turks before WWI and to the Jews after by international law. (San Remo conference.) However by the time the Arab Muslims invaded the land of Israel in 635, there were already Jews living here. Israel was never Arab land. So the Arabs can go back to the Hedjaz (saudi) where they came from.
