Unfortunately, the surface of the fluid move strangely at the end...but this is a problem of the solver...maybe try to increase the resolution of the fluid.
ok on blender 2.42 b you had a cube and then you would put an object in it and then click bake.. and it would become fluid.. i had a sphere in a cube had the sphere as fluid and the cube as the domain.. as your supposed to do.. i hit bake.. and nothing happened.. what did i do wrong!

Ow, thats awesome! Very cool. You used a similar technique the one i did in my Fire vs Water animation by the looks.

It doesn't sound like you did anything wrong. Download 2.44 and try it there.
