@TheMichellepop I am a freediver, meaning that I dive holding my breath. The video was cut together so you never see me going to breathe, giving the illusion that I held my breath the entire time, when I did not. I can, however, hold my breath for 5 minutes thanks to professional training and safety divers with me ALWAYS! Be safe.....

@izayaisawesome this video was created for a promotion for Otterbay Wetsuits' custom Mermaid wetsuit. Since these suits are not meant to be realistic mermaid tails, but a fun way to freedive, snorkel, or scuba dive, I wore a mask so I could see. Without a mask on, you can't see much...everything is blurry. That defeats the purpose of snorkeling on a reef to see the beautiful fish ;)

If they are so dangerous in your point of view, why didn't they attack her? sharks kill 5 people a year.. that's less than people dying cz of coconuts falling on peoples heads.. why do you think sharkattacks are always in the news when they occure? It's because it's a rare event.. and movies like jaws are so inaccurate. Sharks don't hunt people... Why do you thinks most sharkbites are only single bites?

@sies90 Absolutely...sharks are not constant hunters, and I was diving with these sharks for a while before doing this shoot. These particular sharks (Caribbean Reef Sharks) are very rarely aggressive and pay little attention to scuba divers and swimmers :)

@BrooklynLPS Look up the sport of freediving. I am a trained freediver and can hold my breath for 5 minutes and dive to 100 feet down and back up on a single breath of air.

I bet she would fly with the angled Hyper Pro monofin by Leaderfins... popular in Europe.

The 22 degree fin angle is very efficient, allows a straighter leg stroke.

Shame to see her in such a large volume mask, wastes her precious air... but, then, it does show off her pretty face!

@bubblerings I haven't tried the Hyper Pro or the Glide fin yet....I'm old school with my Waterways classic! I wore the high volume mask because that is what the client wanted for the shoot, and yes....they are HUGE! Very annoying for equalizing....but they wanted it for the look ;)

I bet with another pound of weight, and a Leaderfins Hyper Pro, she would be more efficient cutting through the water. The angled fin lets you fly!

(Hopefully, she never uses such a high volume mask again... wastes your air, too.)

You see, I want to have nice flukes like these mermaids, but if i use just plain fabric they'll kinda..flop over on land :/

But their flukes look amazing, even on land! And they stand up straight..
