While some people disagree on the music, i think that it's good. in fact, i'm just gonna ask you what song is that sung by whom. But i dont understand why though, that it seems that whatever he tries to get closed to, is destroyed?
@f3nt0 not all of anibooms videos are pleasant or cheerful ive seen a few like this that are set in deep retrospective and even one that is centered around an inescapable fate
@lionmane3131 yeah, but still, my question is unanswered. Why does everything he gets closed to becomes destroyed? I believe there must be something happening before that causes this. This piece could inspire a movie~!
@lionmane3131 Oh, by the way, I do love animations like "deep retrospective" and "inescapable fate" such as The Backwater Gospel. Erm, can you suggest several others thsat you find fascinating?
@f3nt0 theres one called clocktower that i liked so much i had to favorite, theres one recently but the name escapes me, clocktower was my introduction to anibooom
All around an awesome video, with only one small exception, they shouldn't have animated the giant singing along with the music. Somehow, it took away from the bleak and beauty of the piece.
humans will just go and cut out those crystals and sell them off sadly...this is a good video showing how humans a taking nature for granted and killing it off.
This Animation reminds me of what humans do to the world...leaving the mess for others to clean up while we think about our selves...we ruin our own home...its really sad
please do correct me if I'm wrong. but I don't think any animator would do a half job and just use a song for the BGM for their animation that they put hours into....
The animation is beautiful, but there is a problem: the proportion are always different. One time he's big like a mountain, another much smaller like a tree... then like a house, and then like a skyscraper.
@Skylletta88 ya kno.....I didn't notice that before, but now the size difference is all I see lol!
Great vid still though. :) Way to make me want to cry for a giant moving rock. I definitely added it to my favorites. And the song will be stuck in my head for hours....
Beautiful. Love how it was animated. I loved the creatures, they had orginiality. I would change a few things about it, but no doubt. . . it was a pleasure to watch :)
I don't know what to say, because this was one epic animation. I couldn't help but to compare the giant with the "Spirit of the Forest" from the anime movie "Princess Mononoke", because in a away (at least from my p.o.v. and aside from abelmon's briliant interpretation.) this also shows the destruction mankinde has caused Mother Nature, and is explaining us to not take the goods we recive from her, as granted.
From some MMORPG inspired, to godzilla like wooden creature in somewhere probably in Japan and finally cryptonite island inspired! Pretty neat job there!
WOW!! Amazing animation. You really get the message, his friends, family, his world, everything he loves is falling apart and desperately out of anger and sadness he tries to find something left in his world but only makes everything worse. Then destroys himself and out comes only beauty. I dont get all the jazz about the song, its the right song for this animation. It moved me and i think a lot of others too.
I usually watch your videos as soon as you upload them, somehow I missed this one though. But i'm glad that I found it now, definitely needed something this amazing to complete my day. <3
Great animation, especially at begining! In a second watching, I understood that the giant lost his friends and family, so he started in an introspective travel like a peregrine... The final scene tried to show some beauty in a lonely death, but it was sad anyway... There are much more than this: even with some pain sometimes, life is the best gift... The best!
We fall apart... our familiars/friends will one day fade from heart, leaving us searching for what we can't find, that void we feel we should fill, so we search endlessly for companionship. I feel this... the structure here alone seems to define the both the artist's state - A lonely solitude, little companionship, "Please, let they be the same" - Please, let they love me as I would want to love them.
I'll admit that I wasn't too fond of the song, but the animation was visually amazing. I agree with the comments about the motion of the main character not matching his size, though. Otherwise, good work.
I like how everyone is trying to say things like, "Oh, how insightful." and "This really speaks to me. I see what the 'artist' was trying to convey." I know what this is; GAY! It's fucking stupid. This is the gayest goddamn thing to hit abimboom since musicotherapy, and that was only a few days ago. Man, shit like this that's just do damn retarded shouldn't be allowed to exist.
The story etc or wathever we just saw was shit, but the animations itself wasn't that bad. Don't be an Ahole who only sees negative stuff...this vid had both up and downsides.
Also too the people only saying postive stuff, you ain't helping the artist...the only way he will become better if you be honest with him.
There was so much awesome about that. I did find the character movement a little awkward when it was running considering its proportions (didn't look like it could, but it was, guess the cool thing about being a god is getting to work off your own version of physics ;) Was really wowed by the water and the smoke and thought the characterisation was pretty good.
I noticed this was supposed to be in New Zealand and the monster is a maori legend inspired creature! I have been to new zealand before and it really is one of the last amazing and untouched natural places on earth and i hope it stays that way for eternity. I would also rage like that creature if i had to think about the way humanity completely mistreats the environment and destroys all what is beatiful about nature. I absolutely loved this animation.
This was a great animation, I just wish the character motion had been more considered. Giant things don't move like that; they lumber, they move in slow-motion because of the scale involved. The way this giant moved made him look like a stop-motion toy, the size of an action figure.
@belisariusorb why u said the music F cmon i know not everyone have the same taste but i think most of the people here could say this song was actually really beautiful did u even here the lyrics?? try to understand it and them plz have a change of mind im not crazy i just love music and its meaning =3
@allen7studios Everyone has a damn taste in music, just cause you don't like their opinion it doesn't mean that this song everyone loves just cause you do.. I don't like the song; but I love the animation. Who cares about the damn song anyways? Its just there.
this actually wasn't too well done. its almost like they only cut and paste the guy onto the surrounding world. the water was untouched by the massive man that hit it; how is that possible? if that guy jumped in the water there would be tidal waves everywhere. the people seemed unaffected by the 'earthquake' and if he touched or effected something only a smoke puff came out but it remained unaffected.
The human race murders the planet it's living on, so the planet strikes back. But in the end the planet can't change anything, because humanity doesn't care...so it (the planet) lies down to die.
:| I wanna be like "oh don't you see the song helps with the...", to cancel out the haters some, but I really dunno why that song was chosen. I couldn't understand the lyrics, so maybe the message was in there. If so, alright -- I did notice the God/Monster sang along at one point, so I'm assuming the lyrics intertwine with the story... but the atmospheres the song and animation created clashed :\ Luckily, the visuals were beautiful enough it didn't matter what the audio was.
@Leadman1989 Yeh, the Aniboom clips don't seem to do much justice to music videos, unfortunately. Just search Shapeshifter Twin Galaxies for the band's higher quality video. Cheers!

@pakleglia I was just saying the timing of the release was maybe a little wrong seeing as it IS a video about an earthquake seemingly in New Zealand. I'm sorry my sensitivity to the feelings of others made you so angry.
It's pretty cool, man, prettty cool! A little bit is missing from it to make it 'epic', but not much. There are some annoying details that were not taken care of like the building is untouched after the giant weighs on it (even though parts of it fall down), but it's still a great work.

@pakleglia I was just saying the timing of the release was maybe a little wrong seeing as it IS a video about an earthquake seemingly in New Zealand. I'm sorry my sensitivity to the feelings of others made you so angry.

most epic animation EVER...should be a movie like cloverfield

It's pretty cool, man, prettty cool! A little bit is missing from it to make it 'epic', but not much. There are some annoying details that were not taken care of like the building is untouched after the giant weighs on it (even though parts of it fall down), but it's still a great work.
