Batman came a long a longtime ago. DC is Detective Comics, Batman came out in like issue 21 of DC. So he did come before The Watchmen. However they are not in the same universe.

Watchmen is set in a parallel universe. One where superheroes were used in order for America to win the Vietnam war and nuclear war with the Soviets was looming. Before watching the film it's important to know the setting and timeline, otherwise you wont fully grasp the concept of the film.

thats because watchmen is based in a seperate universe where the hero are actually anti-heros. not regular heros like batman or superman. having them in it would create a bit of a paradox as there would be standard heros who fight for good na dtry to preserve life while there would be the watchmen who kill and even commits crimes too. they just wanted the two worlds to sperate.

Good movie, only thing missing from it was The Watchdog.

My complaints with it was that it was so damn long, there were a couple scenes which added nothing to the movie and could have been cut out to save on time.

Not a movie for children. This is not a Spiderman or Batman type superhero movie so dont think it is. Its very long and has a complex plot, something thohse Spiderman type movies lack.
