I want to emphasize one thing, SELECT THE IMAGE. I was going crazy when I see the blue rectangle around my image but could not get the color effect option to appear for me. Clicking on the keyframe and seeing the blue box around the image is not the same as using the select tool and selecting the image. Very confusing at first. Just be sure you watch your windows.

Thanks for the tutorial. I use CS5 only once in a while and forget how to do things (getting old, I guess). I was looking to fade text in and out, and your technique works with text as well as with images.
