  • The focus is an awesome car, but... cant compare againts a Capri.

  • ford capri all the way better than a shit ford focus

  • The Capri sounds like a WW2 Spitfire. The Focus is just another boring modern car.

  • ugh, i just generally think most cars from the last 5 years just simply look ugly were as the Ford Capri, that's a beauty

  • Capri FTW. Green Focus RS = car for wankers.

  • Nice Ford Capriiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

  • You are too tall for this car! Get the fuck out of it and take a bus!!!

  • capri forever!!!!

  • Ford Capri 1.6L first car <3 maybe the 2.0L insurance is only £80 more through my parents lol Capri is just TOO AWESOME! and good looking :)

  • the ford capri is the 1 sorry people

  • how ever much respect i have for that focus my money will always be spent on a capri

  • Vive la Ford CAPRI. De toute façon, dans 20 ans il n'y aura plus de FOCUS, l'électronique sera HS

  • The Capri is a classic the Focus will never be a classic, too much alike with the rest of the Ford range.

  • capri for me

  • Capri 3000 MK1 GXL GT is also a very very fast and nice machine!

  • Todays cars are cheap throw away plastic ricers!

I dont like cars that touch and feel like inkjet printers....I prfer classic cars made from steel and not chinese electronics + crappy plastic!

  • True Capri RS cost 40.000 Euros today if matching numbers and not modded!

  • The Ford Focus is one ugly looking car...The Capri looks cooler and definately sounds cooler and gutsier! Fuckin´ foolish music on this clip...why destroy the carsounds with this braindead stuff??!!

  • CAPRI !!!

  • What a F@#king S**t pointless video.

  • The Focus may be faster. But it never EVER will get the style the capri has.

  • Focus is one way car throw away plastic shit!

  • both great cars but from differant eras ,but what needs to be addressed is the lack of new bodyshells for old fords ,as an example ,i viewed an rs1800 ,that was priced at £65.000 pound, i mean whats the great difficulty in reproducing escort shells ,this is not 1967 i really think there is a market out there ,for lets face it the greatest competition car of all time ,by a mile

  • cam shaking. btw not bad 4*

  • bouth Cars are really Nice & Pretty ...but the new RS is for me better...

    THX For Vid. 5*

Can you plz say me whats the song name...?

  • The Capri is better looking than the Focus, sounds better & is a proper Babe magnet.

Sorry Focus fans but it's the Capri For me

  • Capri FTW!

  • I´m sure in 20 years you´ll speak about the 2009 RS same like today abaout the Capri.

The new RS has eyerything to become a Classix.

    And the Capri raelly cool.

  • the focus is just like any other modern car, the cars of old had soul, no way will any of them be classics in the future.

  • @tpvalley As an owner of a concours 2.8i Capri that I have modded to 3,000cc & turbo'd, I agree entirely with your sentiment. Modern cars, however good they are dynamically, lack character, soul & charisma. They do not inspire any passion! In addition, they are far more difficult to keep on the road IE try buying an ECU for an RS Focus 15+ years from now!! The high level of electronic technology on contemporary cars will make it nigh on impossible to keep them on the road in the long run.

  • @LIVERPOOLSCOTTISH

has it occured to u that the short lifespan is on purpose to make people buy new cars?!

bare in mind that 30% of an average cars carbon footprint is manufacturing so u keeping an old 2.8 is actually making less carbon than a new economy car!!!

    u tree hugger u!!

as a capri owner u never imagined anyone would ever say that to u did u?!lol.

  • @tpvalley My everyday car is an immaculate E30 BWM Tourer, it's mint, RWD, practical, pleasant to drive, fairly economical & very well built. Why change a car for the sake of it, which in reality is what most people do? I'd never considered myself a tree hugger, but the suggestion did cause me some amusement! lol People will buy ANYTHING, so long as it has lots of gadgets & it is marketed correctly. For me, the aesthetics of many modern cars are dull, anodine, with very little, if any beauty.

  • @LIVERPOOLSCOTTISH

    how old is the bmw?

is it the origional shape? I like them especially the turbo diesels- they sound as good as petrols!

we almost got a new bmw but my dad found them a bit tinny, thats how he described them but some good diesels with around 300bhp!!

My brother just bought a ferarri 328, he almost got a 308 but that was twisted,

£30,000, the price of a new normal car!

  • @LIVERPOOLSCOTTISH I had a mint 325 e30 a couple of years back chap and let me tell you it was the best car i have ever owned and I have had a few.

Top cars and a lot quicker than people think that m20 engine is shit hot ,135 mph all the way from Newquay to the Midlands at 2 in the morning not a problem.

Complete plum for selling it, completely agree with you about new cars aswell they are all the same to me and I am 26!

  • @iziahlights The E30 is a superb motor mate, the 325i is a flying machine. I am friendy with a top notch auto engineer ie he was Roger Clark's mechanic when he won the world championship. He was also Ari Vatinen's mech when he won the world title! Anyhow, he regards the E30 as one of the finest cars ever built. He said it is hewn from rock & extremely well engineered. Mine is currently ticking over on the drive, because some silly fool(me!) left his side lights on y'day evening! lol :)

  • @LIVERPOOLSCOTTISH Cracking cars pal, your mate has the best job in the world if you ask me!

just need to save up some dollar so I can get another mint one. Best car I have ever owned without doubt.

  • @iziahlights I've owned mine for 16 years now as a dry weather, limited mileage classic. Have 'tweaked' it from 2.8i by bore & stroke to 3,000cc & fitted a new turbo technics system 280 ft lbs of torque at 3,500 rpm & 230 Bhp- HUGE fun in a car that is a shade lighter than a modern Ford Fiesta! It appeared in 'Classic Ford' mag in July 2009. Will never sell it!

  • @LIVERPOOLSCOTTISH Haha I would give my left nut for your car!

  • @iziahlights Hi mate, send me your email address via a private msg & I will send you a few pics of my car. Had her out today for a run to Knutsford, Tatton Park. Ran like a dream, the LSD has made a tremendous difference to the rear end traction. Happy days! :)

  • @Wurdelprumpft I doubt it very much. Capri broke new ground when it was launched in 69, it was a massive seller. Capri was & still is a superb looking motor. It has classic looks & it was purpose built as a coupe to look great, regardless of the engine size. Focus is a tarted up, anodine shoping hatch, not a sexy coupe. No matter how fast the RS Focus is, how lairy the paint job on it, or how oversized the alloy wheels, it will never be regarded as fondly as the Capri is today.

  • @LIVERPOOLSCOTTISH

    You want to bet? ;)

You can´t compare a classic car with a brand new one and YOU won´t decide it.

All Ford RS became Classics and with 300 BHP it will. Maybe not in Ford comunity but the in Volvo. The 5 cyl. will run out for years or ever. In soon coming years we drive electric cars and will speak about classic petrol cars. The new RS will have already hybrid :((

  • @Wurdelprumpft Yes, I do want to bet. You appear to believe that BHP alone makes a classic car- WRONG! A classic car is predominantly about style, character, charisma and originality. There is nothing original about the Focus RS, it's aesthetics are appalling, it has little in the way of character & is yet another CAD designed, N-CAP safety compliant Eurobox. It has the charisma of a glass of still water-regardless of how much power it possesses, or how fast it is. YAWN!

  • @LIVERPOOLSCOTTISH I appear to believe nothing. Time will show us in 30 years what happens to Focus RS. Be happy of your Capri which is a great car and stop trying to convince everybody of your opinion. It won´t become mine. Sorry.

  • @Wurdelprumpft The chances of an RS Focus still being on the road in 30 years are extremely remote. They are rammed with electronics, IE when the ECU blows up you simply will not be able to get hold of one. Even if you could, the cost would be prohibitive. There will be no more classic cars post late 80's, early 90's technology. Early cars have simple technology, modern cars are ridiculously over complicated. Aside from it's performance, the RS Focus is nothing more than a tarted up hatchback.

  • @LIVERPOOLSCOTTISH The chances are the same as finding a capri today on our roads. welcome in 2011 ;o) Wake up! UK is not building cars any longer and not all cars today are a mess. I like both cars in the vid, but more fun is the focus rs for sure. So we see us again in 28 years, when my focus may run still on streets. Maybe with an flux generator on the back ;o)

  • @Wurdelprumpft Disagree entirely. Due to the relatively straight forward technology on 60's70's/80's cars, they are far more practical to own & maintain as a classic in the long term. There will be no more classic cars as of the early 1990's. Cars from 90 onwards are far too reliant on electronic based systems, IE ECU systems, Lamda sensors etc etc. You try getting hold of an ECU for a Focus RS 15 years from now. You will either not find one, or it will be prohibitively expensive.

  • @LIVERPOOLSCOTTISH Have you ever tried to find spare parts for 20 years old cars? If it´s not Mercedes or Porsche, you may get wide eyes ordering some and if it´s for sale, you get wide eyes for the price asked for. I just sold one car for this reason. stop telling fairytales! It a gamble, if a car becames a classic one.

  • @Wurdelprumpft Actually old boy, I have indeed ordered parts for a car more than 20 years old. I own a near concours Capri Injection as a limited mileage classic, that is TWENTY-SEVEN years old. I have owned it for seventeen years & it is a show car. Interestingly enough, your own post highlights the very point I was making earlier! IE You will struggle to obtain parts. The more sophisticated the technology-the harder it will be to acquire 15-20 years from now. RS Focus a classic? DREAM ON lol

  • @Wurdelprumpft

thing is i see alot of capri's when i know where to look also i own a 1986 laser capri, but a ford capri shall always be a classic and parts are cheaply gainable :D

  • @Wurdelprumpft You say that the UK is no longer building cars, I suggest you do some research since you are wrong! Either way, whether the UK manufactures cars or not, has no bearing at all the long term prospect of owning & running a car such as the RS Focus as a classic in the long term. To qualify as a true classic, a car has to have far more than just outright performance. The Focus offers dull annodine aesthetics, a garish paint job does not make up for shopping hatch looks! Iol

  • @LIVERPOOLSCOTTISH No Jensen, no TWR, no Rolls, no Mini, no Range, no Rover, no Bentley, no Austin, no Vauxhall, ........ ;o) OK! Ariel Atom with Honda engine and ugly fairways with Nissan and Ford Motors ;o) Rolls powered by BMW, same to Mini, Bentley powered by VW and Vauxhall build by Opel/ Rüsselsheim- lol

And! - both Ford in this vid are running in...? Even this brilliant old RS2600. You know where still the best cars come from? Thank you! :o)))

  • @Wurdelprumpft German cars are well engineered & well constructed, they are also utterly annodine, sterile & have ZERO soul. Porsche 911- the laziest design in the world! lol The current range of Audi's, BMW's & Mercs are as ugly as sin! Where is the BEAUTY? The ELEGANCE? There is NONE, just lots of electronic gadgets. German cars are now as souless as those built by the Japanese. BMW have completely lost the plot, they used to make good looking cars, now they build ugly panzerwagons lol

  • Ford Should have got in contact with there good old buddies Cosworth for the new RS it could have been even better, still a great car though.

    COSitsWORTHit

  • RS all the way

  • Not keen on the fact that the Focus has a Volvo engine even though it sounds great, its the Capri for me.

  • its a brilliant sounding reliable, tourquey engine whats not to like ? :S

  • Old school Capri all the way- keep the GPS.

  • I buy the A.Bild here in Hungary today. There is a test with THIS Capri.. oww beautiful car :)

  • nice video, the first fuel injected ford, outstanding condition also, cheers,

  • Thank you. The two cars are similar in their time.

Where can i find that music, seems like the artist has many names. What album was that ?

  • @TheGarrett08 No , they are not. Focus is a new Escort , Capri was a better sporty model. This is something like RS2000 Escort , the Capri was way better at it times. The RS 2600 had fuel injection (from 1970 !). The rear wheel drive cars are fun to drive - something like RS Focus is not. The drivers of a RS Focus don't know a thing about how to drive sideways through the corners ;-)

  • 1972 Ford Capri 2600 RS (Y)
