We have to sing this at our next choir concert but every time I watch this video to practice my part, I start bawling! This concert isn't going to look very pretty, but it's going to sound amazing. It's such a beautiful song, and this recording is beyond perfection.

@haugwi01 *second verse says "The Southern ball has laid me low." Pretty sure he's referring to the lead ball (bullet) shot from the musket of a confederate soldier that is bringing him to his time of dying. The verse that was omitted from this version is the fourth one that says, "My little ones I've loved them well, oh could I once more see them, that I might bid them a long farewell but we will meet in heaven". Truly a gem.
