@streets2apostle The job of Archbishop of Canterbury will become vacant next year when +Rowan Williams retires. "The Most Reverend and Right Honourable the Lord Archbishop Kallistos of Canterbury" That has a nice and truthful ring about it.
I understand the frustration for the past of the RCC. But we must also remember how the doctrine of original sin is untrue. (that we are guilty of Adam and eve's sin) those currently in leadership should not be held directly responsible either. But yes at least a statement would be nice.
John 16:2 "...the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service. And these things they will do to you because they have not known the Father nor Me. But these things I have told you, that when the time comes, you may remember that I told you of them"
I am still to see or hear an apology from the RCC for its support to Nazis or Croatian Ustashi and all the genocide that its theologians supported directly or indirectly in history !
As an Orthodox Christian this ecumenical talk is all heresy towards the true church and accepting them into our midst would only further support and justify the ends to their unscrupulios means of persecution.
An official apology from the vatican with renumeration to the nations affected and then perhaps dialogue
@banostor Hmmm. Have you perhaps forgotten about forgiveness? It seems to me that you want to be recompensed by the RCC for every offense committed against the Eastern Orthodox; but as the Lord taught us to pray, "forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us". It has perhaps never occurred to you that perhaps the Eastern Orthodox may have committed sins as well...?
@banostor There are many reasons to oppose the ecumenical disease that has taken over the Orthodox Churches, especially with regards to turning a blind eye to the heresies since Vatican II. However, historical events, massacres and politics are not a basis for it. If you demand an apology on the basis of war crimes you will open a Pandora Box that would only make Orthodox Christians just as bad or possibly worst! Just to clear any doubts I am not against inter religious dialogue.
+++His All Holiness Kallistos, Archbishop of Constantinople (New Rome), Ecumenical Patriarch
Has a beautiful ring to it!

@Antiphyletist And why would you say that? ++Kallistos Ware would make a fine Patriarch.
