Blame patient 0 who had sexual intercourse with a primate, and then had sexual intercourse with a human afterwards. HIV stemmed from the mutations of that patient O's genitals somewhere between a monkey and a human. Then it spread out to other humans.

In Western countries, ther are drugs now that prevent full blown AIDS from HIV infected person. The drugs however, are so expensive that most Thai that are infected cannot afford it. When Thai government announced that they will produce cheaper version of these drugs, they are slapped with lawsuits from Western countries and looking like they will win. Very nice.

HIV seems to have replaced humanity's old arch nemeses syphilis, bubonic plague tuberculosis, and polio.

Someday the mass deadliness of this fucking virus will be ancient history just like the other pestilences aforementioned.

i hope one day there is a cure for this.... but i have no doubt that having sex before marriage is against god's will. there's a lot of sad things in this world..... T.T

I have been there in 2005. All the AIDS patients in the temple were there because they had nowwhere to go. They were not accepted by the community and even their own families. Most of the kids had no parents (as they died of AIDS), and were carrying AIDS. I feel really sad. These people required not only physical treament but spiritual one as well. As a Buddism-dominated country, this temple provides both treatments needed.

Why do the people of Thailand let these AIDS victim to be in the hands of the monk?Is the your government haven't power to took over it?

Because Thailand is thirsty of being a progressive country,they sacrifice their fresh and virgin youth to serve those flesh eating Foreigners and locals that is why AIDS is keep spreading and also the drug addicts that contribute to the AIDS population.Let your citizen to be free from this harm...

Yes, I agree the Thai government should do more. In Thailand, the people effected by AIDS are being discriminated. I have heard of an incident in a workplace where a worker was identified as AIDS positive. When her coworkers learn about this, they began to lock the toilet doors (so she couldn't share the same toilets) and etc.... Eventually, she was laid off by her employer.
