  • On ne peut pas savoir qui était Michel sans avoir analysé ses compositions de l'album Oracle's destiny. Michel était encore plus grand qu'on ne le pense...

  • Pure magic :) He is Giant in Jazz. Beautiful song and here is very, very sentimental :D

  • @uprightbassmatt - - All Three but Gary is a Poet here.

  • the sound is what was, what is and what will be. petrucciani is timeless

  • Icannot read Italian - I understand a little - Gary Peacock

    is als very good here

  • un pequeño Gran Gigante, pensar que tenía tan sólo 36 años cuando se fué de gira con los grandes, entre los que se encunetra Bill Evans del que fué su inspirador y a quien admiraba fervientemente....

  • simply amazing!

  • aggree - peace to you

  • Thanks, ankhaton, for posting this. The Little Giant is sorely missed...

  • So Nice

Now He is not little anymore

  • Thanks for uploading this, Michel and Gary are among the greatest jazz musicians!

  • yes - have you seen the other one ?

  • I saw Gary performing with Keith Jarrett and he was great, like in this video.

  • @pcandias

Yes but here Gary is somewhat louder

    than in most audios/ videos

    I like that.

Is he still with Keith Jarrett ?

  • Petrucciani e un poeta! Un suono inconfondibile!

  • Yes - even a second before touching

he thinks : WHICH ONE ?

  • that left hand is from Errol Garner style. There are many video on Youtube of Errol. However Michel is the master of tempo.

  • Exactly - I had an Erroll "Lullaby of Birdland" but youtube forced me to delete it.

I try often to do it but I m not really good -

    Can not even read notes

You find it while searching with the word TRIOLS

And being on Youtube please see my latest song SHANDORA it's not jazz

    but so amazing

  • Gary looks floating in the space just around 6:15.

  • I begin more and more to realize the extreme

importance of a good bass man

    Even Oscar with Ray Brown

And also realize I have an excuse for some of the Blues_s

I play , not being at maximum (but almost) Hâ

  • I remember Michel took part in a jam session with Richie Cole, Bobby Mcferrin, Buster Wiiliams and the other musicians in Madarao Jazz Festival held in Japan. They greatly played Straight No Chaser and I still can't forget Michel's performance with Buster. He frequently used great Riffs during which Buster developed amazing walking bass lines. Does anyone have that video?

  • He sounds like he's seven feet tall.

  • This is greatness.

  • u almost forget its in a sentimental mood untill abot 6:30

  • I do that all the time

I even start in the middle

and for title I call them "Sent" HâHâ

I train as crazy to get that left hand.

  • I first heard him playing in the Charles Lloyd quartet,in concert - still hunting for that video!

  • I wish there were more movies of that day on YouTube

Yes this is grooving like heaven ( like hell they say )

  • OMG is this best jazz or what! I think it is Shizouka Japan? Yes Hiromi and Michel are the only pianists who play masterfully with their eyes closed, bacause they play only from their mind and heart - the way jazz has to be played. This is just a moment in time captured forever I hope.

  • Came back - yes all these eleven months

training like an idiot on keyboard to do that left hand

You know when it goes sometimes It makes in Trance

    or something
