the original was done by Vicki Sue Robinson,then again that too mayhave been remake of an even earlier song. It is like Black is Black it has been done again and again the original being a Jazz peice from the 20s or 30s.This was a bout the time that the first nightclubs featuring recorded music came about ie Discoteques whichwere predominantly gay. Homosexuality was a hanging offence(in many countries)then and they couldnt get live performers in.

The original is way better than Gloria's version...and vicki's voice was more mellow and suited the song....in this case Gloria's voice didn't do much justice to this mega hint of a song. Disappointing. This does not suit Gloria at all. Her voice can't take some of those notes...sounds like she's stressing at points to hit the notes. R.I.P Vicki...no one does it like you girl...clearly....they could all try but if you don't have it...forget about it. Still on top Vicki.
