Jakes wife, to name a few, and pimps such as Joel Osteen, T.D Jakes, Creflo Dollar, Bishop Paul Morton and a plethora of other male and female church leaders and evangelists are enriched by their scams.

the pastors that got scammed are just as much to blame if not more. all i see is a bunch of crooks working a system to get money. when did jesus act this way??? they are all crooks. they should be following the example of jesus...get out of the buildings and become the church. im not even a religious person anymore and i know this principal...i dont feel sorry for any of these pastors.

@dlahug That's not true. Tithing is a practical donation to the church. There is no ponze scheme going on there. The money pays for pastors, buildings, electricity, etc to keep the church running. If you don't agree with where the money is going, don't give them your hard earned dollars. It's as simple as that.

@mbr05c Donation to a Church is called a free will offering. Cheerful giving. 2Chronicles 31 tells you Tithes is FOOD. It was never money. Christians change HONEY to MONEY. I study 2 to 3 hours daily on scripture. Malachi also tells you Tithes was FOOD and how the Levites started stealing the good food and giving the bad to the poor. You don't need a building to spread the Gospel of Jesus. These Pastors have people equating Blessings as things and when it's good health, true love of one another.

Sadly, Church Fraud is a very real concern, with potential risk from the outside as well as within. There are simple steps to increase the security of a churches finances but it is difficult to know where to start. I recently found out about a Christian Accounting firm that offers online tools and support for churches. They have some excellent resources as well as an online questionnaire that will determine whether a church is at risk. Their service is called Weeds in the Garden.

Who says education and greed has to go hand in hand? That's only true if you have no integrity. That's why part of the education process is to check out the integrity of a situation  before jumping in. Vulnerability is a choice...not a law and not a commandment.

Financial education is sorely needed today, particularly in churches. Please read federal laws...any scheme in which only money goes through the network of investors is an ILLEGAL PYRAMID SCHEME. Legal networks offer viable products and services...not just money! Let this be your first warning sign.
