@MrDante28 don't really know, it was just a standard one which i find, i mean, it wasn't made by any famous brand if that's your question... though it's a 500k pot.
@joeldification the SE 245 is quite interesting, its pickups are different, BUT! and this is a very big But... its bridge is completely different too, it works differently since it's factory-calibrated, you can't play with it or you might make it useless. I wouldn't recomend those bridges.
But just in case you don't already know, when you play that chord at 5:05 in Face of Melinda you should either play the A on the sixth string with your thumb or just play an open A. Makes it a lot smoother.
sometimes (1 of 200 times) when I toggle the pickup, the volume is muted.so i have to push the switch back and try again ^^ anyone got this problem, too ?
Hey, I was wondering what the sustain is like? I'm a big fan of Porcupine Tree and Opeth, but I also like 70's progrock like Camel, which has these everlasting notes, is the sustain good on the otherwise awesomelooking guitar? =)
@Justgivemeanameffs well i'm not into camel, i just know them by name, but about sustain, it is actually outstanding, i mean you can get a really cool sustain in both channels.
@Justgivemeanameffs It's indeed bloody cheap mate but there aren't any downsides.... however, that is up to you... and what you can call a downside. the clear downside, is that it doesn't have a full piece of flamed maple, but only a veneer, the sound is however the same in my opinion, the 2nd downside is the PRS designed pickups, which are not actually prs... they are just made by another company under the licence of prs, still, I think they sound fucking great.have you seen the new opeth DVD?
@GuitarFulvio1 I want one of those PG models! hehehe they're so cool, I have an ibanez RX 20 from korea, it's kinda old, but I love it, got some new pickups for it and a coil splitter switch and is just.... wow
@GuitarFulvio1 well the height of the strings is really cool actually because it almost touches the frets, so it's pretty much the guitar with the closest strings to the frets I've ever played.... the vibrato system is just great, I don't actually know how to describe it, it's not a hard tight one like a LTD ME 50 (which I had the cahnce to play once and it sucked) and it's not as loose as a floyd rose.... but the thing is that it does its job greatly, just buy the locking tuners...
Lol you don't like the pickups because they have an acoustic sound?? um what amp do you use? because if you have a head and a cabinet I wouldn't think it would sound like that =\
im thinking about buying this guitar but im choosing between it and the custom 24, i like the look of the 24, but this one has more features. any help???
@Neztoro the 25th anniversary SE custom 24 is a cool guitar, and they actually have pretty much the same characteristics... the same pickups, and are made of the same wood.... I think you need to choose wheter you like a single cut or not... but I recomend you the single cut one, even if is this one or if you maybe can find a SE SC because they have some S shape, not like the expensive PRS line, but still, ... I mean.. the SE custom 24 looks great... but it's flat ...
@Neztoro Well this guitar has an ebony fretboard, if you prefer that, which I don't see why you wouldn't. Not only does it look better, but it feels a lot better too
Does the big O appear to be removable somehow? I love Opeth but I'm not too keen on where it is. I think it would've been cool if they removed one of the birds with the O.
@EarlMcCrackin no, it's not removable, It looks cool in my opinion and I think it's almost imposible to place it in one of the frets... sort of the orianthi's O is in the 12 fret, I think Opeth's O Is Far more difficult to do as an inlay
Opeth is amazing and I think SE guitar's aare quality, I hate people saying ''oh, it's the cheap PRS'' so what? They are actually quite good. I think Micke's guitar is prettier than Tremonti's, just a personal opinion :) PRS necks are fantastic. But I can choose between Ibanez and PRS necks...thanks for review! it was good!
@theshulganator sure man no offense taken, it actually sounds too digital since I run it on the guitar rig, that takes a lot of the original sound of the efects and makes them more digital, but i don't like too much mids on my settings, is just my taste, and i just checked your review, that guitar also sounds great!
@Vinchester87 I wouldn't say it's an Les paul style... is just a single cut guitar, and in my opinion very different than a Epiphone or gibson les paul
indeed it's the best guitar that PRS SE can offer, great finishes and great sound!
@WallysaurRex well most people understands.... and loads of people speak english, I see you too, so I don't get why didn't you understand... I'm not that bad, am I?
I think I'm getting the same guitar.. I've been looking for a versatile guitar that can do blues, rock, metal, clean, shredding, and maybe even some jazz and I think this one is good enough for all! what do you think? also how much did it cost you? is the neck comfortable?
@bongmail I Think This Is The guitar that you need... It's so versatile, volume knobs make a great job and the tone control is just amazing, If you want to be able to play any genre you want, this is the guitar for you, or at least... a PRS
the neck is really comfortable... it's a little bit fatter than for example an Ibanez(which I own one too), but it's very very comfortable
@prepucci that's cool, even I own an Ibanez (my first and only guitar) an SA260FM to be more precise and I find it really comfortable, but I don't like the pickups that much and I'm looking for something better. A fatter neck would be better I guess for bendings. thanks for replying. How much did it cost you and from where did you buy it? I've been seeing your video over and over again cos it's the only one on youtube showing this guitar! so thanks for uploading :D
Glad that it has an ebony finberboard, thats why the guitar is still on the pricey side, since you can get an ESP/LTD MH-350 FR for 600 bones, and it has active pickups. But i am considering getting this guitar in a near future
@serazac25 I'm not a friend of ESP/LTD models ... I think their quality is not that good... I think You Can Find Really Cool Ibanez Guitars for that price.... and about active pickups.... I don't like them... but it's just my opinion :)
@AHMADF93 IT is actually it can be very awkward when you use the tremolo bar, but it does it's job, besides almost every PRS even not the SE models have the pickup switch in that position
Yeah, I agree that the PRS SE line is all made in Korea, but I won't underextimate these guitars. I think they are however the best you can take for that price-frame and in any case I think they are good guitars in absolute terms too...
@Oggettivismo of course this guitars are great, I even found a picture of mike akerfeldt using it LIVE! I think the guitar has this low price mostly because stetic details... like the maple top, it's not as carved as the USA ones, and the flamed maple top is just a thin piece of wood, to keep p`rices low.... nevertheless sounds great, feels great, and It's a PRS!
@prepucci: yes, I do think that's a great guitar, as all PRS products. For sure, finitures couldn't be exactly the same of a 2000 euros guitar as Mira or Custom 24... But the most important thing is how it sounds, and from the video you've posted here it seems it sounds great. May I ask you some more details about pickups? Moreover, if I was in your shoes, I would change the pot wheels with the Custom 24 ones, if possible. I guess it would be nice.
where is the guitar made and how much did u get it for??.....because the one in malaysia in made in korea...so i wanna know the difference if your one is made somewhere else :D
@mdan87 I'm actually not using any, "real amp" I run the guitar through A Boss ME 30 (for distortion and efects) and throught the computer with Guitar Rig 4, using 2 gratifiers with different settings in stereo
