  • i cannot help myself but I love that sound.

it reminds me of the best time of my life when i was working near london for 4 months and i used to visit it very often.

    ... so much memories...

  • these trains have the best sound on the underground. but the best are the 2009ts, which replace the old, tatty and annoying 1967ts (my opinion)

  • awsome vid mate

  • Love the engine noise.

  • London Underground 1995 & 1996 ts traction systems:

    1995 ts - IGBT-VVVF.

    1996 ts - GTO-VVVF.

    Am I right?

  • sounds simerlar to the southeastern class 465 networker train

  • 1996 stock train is the Female, the 1995 stock train on the northern line train is the male.

  • I love the engine sound!

  • lol i used to find the noise of the train starting up scary (when i was little) not sure what its suppost to be

  • It's the traction motors (3-phase AC, I think). Thanks for commenting! :-)

  • @TrainBusJaguar It's from the type of drive used to make the 3ph motors turn - in this case GTO thyristor, as with the Class 465's.

  • @tomma0264 me too lol

  • I love the sound of this train. How about to emend the 1995 & 1996?So,all the world can see the similarities and the differences between then. But I prefer the 1996 stock. And you?

  • Mmm, I like the 1996 stock as well. They sound better than the 1995ts.

But my favs are the 1967 stock!

    Cheers :-)

  • @TrainBusJaguar The traction motors on1997 sound way better (my faves are the same as you)
