I enjoy fair and fact based debate. When I find someone who doesn't have the inclination, knowledge, or ability to do anything other than parrot the propaganda lines, then I just get mild entertainment simply insulting them.
By the way, feel free to recycle that used rubber hanging out of your ass.
Our Federal government has no constitutional authority to force people to buy health insurance. In addition, it has no constitutional authority to force people to violate their conscience by paying an insurance premium with an insurance company that is forced by the federal government to provide baby killing drugs. There is no "opt out"-either through your company's plan or government run health care, your premium goes toward a plan that covers baby killing drugs under the guise of "health".
@jgehb You are forced to contribute toward a health care system that covers more people (the same way you are forced to contribute toward the military, schools, etc.)
But is it or is it not true that everyone has the choice whether to contribute via purchasing private insurance or paying a slightly higher tax?
If you have that choice, then no one is forced to buy h.c. insur. Correct?
@megarational - You miss my point entirely. This mandate forces me and others of faith, against our conscience, to pay for the killing of unborn children via abortion drugs. There is no out on that for me.
@jgehb No. YOU missed the point. You are not forced to buy insurance. You can opt for a slightly higher tax. As for insurance co's being required to cover abortions under certain conditions, that is or would be in existence with or without the mandate. Capishe?
So it would be just the same as saying "I object to income tax because it funds a system which may be covering some abortions under certain conditions".
It's just GOP/Insurance/Fox that has deluded people like you.
@megarational - It is mandated that all Americans buy health insurance, which is why the lawsuits are flying regarding government run health care. So you are incorrect in your claim that "You are not forced to buy insurance". Exemption? Sure if you put money in the back pocket of the administration.
Your claim "It's just GOP/Insurance/Fox" is simply bigotry and nonsense. There are many of us in the public who don't believe what they are told by the mainstream press and the President.
@jgehb You fucking idiot. G google "penalty for not purchasing US health care insurance" "the us health care mandate" etc and you can confirm from non-partisan sources (eg:wikipedia) that the only thing that happens to individuals who don't buy h.c. insur. is just a slightly higher tax.
And by the way "mainstream media" and "left wing media" are just labels the GOP & their propaganda arm Fox Fiction apply to every media that is not as rabidly partisan and misleading as GOP-TV (Fox).
@megarational - as I have come to expect, you gotta play the name calling card, which involves no brains, no effort, & no time. The ones who always speak out against "hate" and "intolerance", yet demonstrate that they are hypocrites by having no problem engaging in it toward those who have a viewpoint that does not match theirs.
Yeah, there is not mandate, as evidenced by all the LAWSUITS out there, building in number, to strike it down. Oh, I'm sorry that is just "political" too. Yeah right!
@megarational - is it not required that all Americans buy health insurance and that no matter which way you go, through your company's plan or through the government's plan, it is mandated that those insurance company's cover abortion drugs? I think you will find that is the case.
@jgehb Your original post was: "Our Federal government has no constitutional authority to force people to buy health insur."
Now that it has been proven that that's a bullshit lie by the GOP & Fox, you subtly shift to try to define "mandate" as forcing insur. co's to cover something, instead of your original bullshit about it meaning people are forced to buy h.c. insur.
LIke an insect exposed to the light you scurry to Hide under another rock.
@megarational - all the lawsuits prove you know nothing about what you are talking about. You are pathetic with the brainless name calling. One of those who is always crying out against "hatred" and "intolerance", and then the first to violate it to accomodate their views and agenda.
@megarational - I don't watch Fox (referencing your "crawl back into the Fox bubble"), so try again. Your problem, which is truly troubling, is that you engage in prejudice when opposing others - you just label and lump people together that you have never met and know nothing about. Just slam them since they don't agree with your world view.
“...ensure that fed premium or cost-sharing subsidies are not used to purchase coverage for abortion ...beyond saving the life of the woman in cases of rape or incest (Hyde amendment)."
If a plan that chooses that covers abortion services beyond those for which fed funds are permitted, those federal subsidy funds (premiums or cost-sharing) must not be used for the purchase of the abortion coverage..."
@jgehb This week the president gave a major speech, which included a summary of energy policy.
Now, actual credible "news" network would air in entirety a major speech by your president. Virtually every network did.
Except Fox. As usual fox only aired a few shippets, followed by the usual Fox talking heads spending the entire day giving their version of what the president said, and criticizing it. They couldn't trust their fool fans to listen & make up their own minds.
@jgehb You want to see what an actual intelligent non-partisan news commentary show looks, sounds, and feels like?
Watch a few episodes of "Fareed Zakaria - GPS" on CNN.
Expert guests, intelligent questions, time for expert guests to fully answer, in depth probing, all in a non-partisan manner by a host with a reputation as a knowledgeable and experienced background and ability.
spentpoet: By the way, the Affordable Care Act of 2010 isn't a single-payer system. The ACA has _exactly_ the form for which Newt argues so cogently in this clip: (nearly) one-hundred-percent coverage, large risk pools of _individual_ purchasers of health insurance, preventing cherry-picking by insurance companies, an individual mandate, and subsidies to the working poor. That's the Affordable Care Act.
People aren't listening to what he is actually saying. HE DOESN'T ADVOCATE FOR A SINGLE-PAYER SYSTEM. Listen to the entire exchange, people. NOWHERE does he want to impose govt on you. SHEESH!
Gingrich is probably best known for serving his wife with divorce papers while she was recovering from cancer surgery, so he could marry his mistress, whom he later divorced to marry a staffer 23 years his junior. Gingrich was having an affair while he was busy impeaching Clinton for supposedly lying about having an affair. Then, Gingrich left Capitol Hill in disgrace, resigning from the House of Representatives after being slapped with a $300,000 fine for ethics violations.
He was smart before he got dumb. I wonder if that has to do with being a convert to Catholicism. I am Cathollic so I don't think that is it. You are suppsoed to lie if you are Republican. Republican consituantes understand the "coded messages" so the truth is not necessary and is in fact embarassing to them.
