  • You are a 3C/4A hair type, right? It looks like we almost have the exact same hair grade. Definitely going to trust your product recommendations! (Our TWAs even look the same!!)

  • @ oluwaseunhijja, I did my bc about four days ago and I'm having the same issue where I cant my little boy fro to curl, but I love it. I've gotten a lot of compliments. The people who don't like it, just don't say anything and that's fine. IGNORE what people say and how they act. I've been watching tut. For about a month before I did my bc and I don't regret it. Be patient and it will pay off. Hydrathermals products are great!!!!

  • I wish i could do that. I did my bc two weeks ago and so far I'm having a terrible time. My hair refuses to curl so I have a dry boy afro... Not only that, everyone hates it. i've had people come up to me and ask if I'm a boy. Friends call me afro face and mock my by pretending to shave their head. So idk why everyone is having a good journey but me... FML

  • @oluwaseunnijja wow! just hang in there and learn to work with your own hair type. Everyone's hair is a little different and as you go on your natural hair journey, you will learn how to manage your hair. Always remember that you are beautiful unique and divine and created in God's image. Don't listen to anyone else but your own heart and God.

  • @oluwaseunnijja I shampoo and condition every ten days and spritz me hair with aloe juice and filtered water. I spritz on coconut oil every other or two days. Incredible results! My hair doesnt even really need much defining after conditioning. My hair went from 4a/4b back to 3c, a litle bit of 3b and 4a curls.

  • I've seen ur video before I transition, now that I have done the chop Im glad I watched it again. I bc in Feb and tonight I was thinking I am ready to put some kind of texturizer in my hair. It was either that or cut it more bcuz it's grown so much. Thanks to your video Im going to cut it and try to work and define curls that way. Its funny that u said you have two types of hair, bcuz that's how i feel. So thanks 2 u i've been inspired to put off texturizing for now! Thanks for sharing.

  • Love it love it. I'm going natural as well. And this let's me no I'm doing the right thing. Where can I get these products? And also what's good for growing the edges. Mine r a lil thin.

  • @wanna4800 Hey. Yes, the Hydratherma Naturals moisturizing growth lotion and hair growth oil can help to grow in your edges if your massage with these 2 products 1-2x per day. they are available at HealthyHairJourney com

    thx

  • this was such a pleasant and informative video to watch! Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge.YOu're beautiful,God bless;-)

  • I just did the BC on Sunday and I have been searching for the right site to help me along the way. After days, of searching, I found your video very informative and just the help I need to keep me on my journey. Thank you.

  • Hey sis got my PRODUCTS TODAY SO HAPPY .You are a goddess for real. I also got my huetiful hair steamer ,Would you advise me to use my steamer with your products or my head dryer just thought I would ask? I love my steamer but you know your hair system I loved the time you put in to packaging a Goddess on every level

  • your hair looks great!

  • Thanks for all the information. It's been extremely helpful. I've been completely natural a little over 2 months now. The only step that I have not used is the gel application. Does the gel in combination with the rest of the products help to define the curl?

  • @knew2natural YES...IT SURE DOES :-)

  • Thanks for posting this video. It is so helpful . I did the big chop a couple of months ago and have been trying to figure out how manage my hair. I have tried many regiments and products. Your hair looks really healthy. I really appreciate the tips.

  • You are my hero! I just did my BC yesterday night, or morning, and I'm just amazing how awesome my natural TWA looks. It's about as long as yours is in the video and I think it's also the same texture. I have a patch of wavy hair dead center on my front hair line, 4a towards the edges and 4b in the center. I've been looking for videos with some one with similar hair, and I am glad I found your videos. I can't wait to try this out.

  • @Schiznie congrats!!!

  • Hello Saleemah, I resently did my Big Chop in October 17th of this year. I haven't purchased Hydratherma Naturals Product line as of yet. But I thank you for the very helpful video post.

  • Hi Saleemah. I thank you for your products. I bought the whole line a couple of months ago. My scalp is totally healed. My problem now is try to style my hair. I've twist, twist and tuck, wash and go. To me my hair looks so dull that I don't see any style definition. I don't know if I'm just use to having a black color on it. I want it to be as healthy as possible. Any suggestions?

  • @sharebare28 Hey!!!! After washing and deep conditioning with the Hydratherma Naturals products, section the hair in 4 sections. To each section (while still wet), apply the protein balance leave in, growth lotion and seal in with oil. Then, style as usual. These 3 products should be used daily on dry hair to maintain a nice balance of moisture and protein in the hair during the week. Blessings!

  • THANKS FOR THIS VIDEO, IT HAS HELPED ME SO MUCH

  • @Lbrachk Yes, a diffuser would work fine.

    thx

  • can you use aloe vera gel???? or any other kind of gel???

  • @IndigoBlueSole I have never tried this type of style with aloe vera gel...You should give it a try :-) I like the ic gel the most. Some gels are too drying to the hair.

    Thanks!

  • ok just to get this straight, all the steps u did was only to style ur hair after u washed it, then to touch it up everyday u just add alil bit more of the products u mentioned and re-twist where necessary...u didnt have to do that whole process everyday, right? bc i was like this seems like alot but when i think about how i would glaze my hair, wash it, condition it, deep condition it, spray it, grease my scalp, blow it out, flat-iron it, bump the ends and spray oil sheen every 2 weeks...lolz

  • @ksmiles203 Yes, this is only after washing. On a daily basis I use the Hydratherma Naturals Protein balance leave in, daily moisturizing growth lotion and seal in with the hair growth oil to maintain a great moisture protein balance on a daily basis.

  • I just received the Follicle Invigorator today. I had gone on a walk and came in sweating. I went in and separated 1 inch parts of my transitioning hair and spray thing stuff on my scalp. I only have about 2 inches of natural hair and this stuff made is sooooo soft instantly! Its amazing! I massaged it in and softly brushed my hair back & touched it now that its dry and IT IS SOFT AND SMOOTH! Wow! Thanks for the great product! Can't wait to try more!

  • @feliciachanel That is wonderful! Please keep us posted on how well your hair is doing!

    Blessings!

    Saleemah

  • after watching you, i will be a pro.. i love your vids, really inspiring!

  • Finally someone got it right. Thanks my sista!!!

  • how do you work this out if your hair is longer?

  • Thanks for posting.

  • how do you know what your hair type is??

  • @yameezy

  • I have been natural for years now but I just started wearing a lil fro for about a year after hair fell out. I usually wash and take hours twisting my hair but I can not wait to try your method and I should get growth back as well. Thankz for the post!!

  • is it the same thing with wax ... if i use wax like murrays ... should i use that moisturizer on a daily?

  • Hello I just did my BC on 8/29/09 and based on everything I have read I have 4 type hair. So to I am like I am chillin for the most part so I will just put some leave in conditioner and no additional product. (my TWA curls up with conditioner) but after watching this I fingered my curls and omg I love it!!!! I can't wait for it to dry!!! Thank you sooo much!

  • Can u do a video one day on how to define curls now that your hair has gotten longer? It seems like that method works best on TWA's. Thank You :)

  • i sure will!

  • thank you :) I can't wait to see it

  • @Nikkiizsofli what are TWA's?

  • @tnbatton T.eeny W.eeny A.fros :)

  • when you define your curls, which looks great by the way..... do you have do wash your hair every day? or is it every few days? I know with all the gel and other hair products in, it can start feeling a little funky after a while.

  • no you don't have to shampoo daily, i shampoo weekly. thx!

  • Hello Saleemah, I did my big chop 3 weeks ago after getting tired of dealing with the dryness and breakage due to medication. Now you have mentioned several types of hair, 3B, 4C and others, how do we know what types of hair we have. I checked your website for that information and wasn't able to find it, please help!

  • i have yet to be able to get my curl definition to be as pronounced as yours after using gel, but ill continue to work on it. thanks for the vid!

  • the way to described your hair textures reminded me of my new twa and its multiple textures

  • Thank you SOOOOO much for this video!!! I just did my big chop thursday and I was in desperite need of a way to make my curls more defined, I tried your method yesterday and my hair looks BEAUTIFUL! I recieved nothing but rave reviews. Thank you :)

  • where would i be able to purchase hydrothermal natural products???

  • I cant even begin to tell u how long i have been looking for this, but i need to know what is 3c n 4b hair?

  • EXCELLENT VIDEO!! it's so easy, i'll be trying this method mos def! thanks for the tutorial!

  • Does this hais-care line come with instructions???? :)

  • Yes it does come with detailed instructions..I know that it may seem a little confusing but it is really quite simple..lol take care!

  • thanks for your quick reply. I will be trying this out. I pray it turns out as great as yours. Thanks again :-)

  • Hi, I am fairly new to this natural look. My hair looks to be like your length and curl pattern. I like the definition of how you are setting your hair. Will this stay for a few days or is this something daily that I have too do? Also, I do like how you presented your videos. You are informative. Short, sweet and to the point.

  • thanks! this style should last for a few days. If you need a little more curl definition just spray your hair with a little more water moisturize and add a little more gel if you need to. have a great day!

  • Your video is awesome. Exactly what I was looking for! Also, for some reason it's very relaxing....I consider that a bonus! Thanks for sharing! :)

  • Thank you for posting this. As someone who has recently decided to go natural, I found this vid to be very informative :-) you have beautiful hair, BTW

  • Thanks and Congrats on your big chop! The hydratherma naturals products are available at HealthyHairJourney com

  • you make me realize that I love my natural hair i just told y husband that I was thinking about relaxing it again but I go through the same steps that you go through when I wash my hair and I luv it! will the folical stuff work for my husbands thinning hair

  • hey there. ur vids r very informative. evethough my hair wont do like urs, I'm addicted to ur vids with hope some day........ My hair is so totally natural...nappy...kinky.....and extra extra thick. I dont even think it has a single curl in it much try to define them. any suggestions pls? I'ld say its about 4-5 inches long....maybe. pls help....

  • You have curls. Everyone kinky person does. Well, from what i see. They are just REALLY small and tight. Like coils. Pull a strand out and see.

  • Loved your video and it will help me to define my curls - Thank you!

  • ABSOLUTELY GREAT VIDEO!!!

  • hey, can you use JAM for this? the gel that is...

  • i guess you can..it is not thick enough for my hair though

  • I love your hair! How long did you transition before your BC?

  • I transitioned for about 5 months thanks~

  • ur hair is growin so fast what is your routine and what all do u use please help me i cut my hair seven months ago and it is just 2 inches.

  • I have my routine posted on my website..it is to long for me to post as a comment..lol

  • very nice

  • I just did the chop today; I tried to put a rinse in my hair it didnt work, and i left it in for 30 minutes. I also bought the ic styling gel, didnt work either.

  • Your Hair is really nice! but I cant sit under a dryer for 45 minutes! will you get the same results if you let is air dry??

  • Sure you can

  • why do you say the shampoo is good to use especially if u put alot of gel into your hair?

  • This is because it is important to use a great yet gentle clarifying shampoo to remove the gel buildup to prepare your hair for deep conditioning

  • Wow! It came out really beautiful. A lot of work though. I guess that's why I keep mine chopped pretty low. I'm way too lazy to do all that every day! Lol!

  • does this work on longer hair ?

  • sure!

  • I love ur hair

  • where could you find the Hydratherma products at??

  • HealthyHairJourney com

  • What do you do to make your hair strong? If I did this to my hair, I wouldn't have any left, or it would be filled with split ends!

  • Is Jazzing healthy for the hair?

  • Yes it does not damage the hair. jazzing is only a rinse and will wash out with a few shampoos

  • Love, Love, Love your hair and videos. I will be BC(n) today and I must say that you give me great inspiration..

    Thank You

  • I am so loving your curl pattern. You look so cute.

  • Your curl pattern is beautiful and your facial features are wonderful for any hair color/shape/style...

  • Oh, your products sound awesome. Do you have to sit under a dryer? I hate to use heat and my hair is doing so much better for it. I have a twa and I co wash 2Xs a week. What product do you reccomend? I also use kinky curl gel. Help me out, please.

  • Thanks! No, you don't have to sit under the dryer if your don't want to....it is just faster. My favorite is the Hydratherma Naturals Growth Lotion.

  • Very Cute! my hair is very uneven. I am natural and my hair is all mixed up like yours, lol. wish my back would grow as fast as my top. Very cute hair style.

  • Finally! A hair video with MY hair type. LOL Thanks so much for this, your hair looks great. I'll have to look up those products you use.

  • Cute hairdo!

  • These products look good. Are you offering any sample sizes for purchase?

  • BEAUTIFUL!

  • Your hair looks great! you have great growth progress.

  • Your hair look very nice. It is growing very good. beautiful.

  • lol i love that sound it makes wen u rubbed the gel into you hair hehe i dno why

    you have lovely hair =)

  • I LOVE your products!!!! i'm under the dryer conditioning my hair right now!!!

  • your hair looks GREAT!

  • Your curls looks great! we seem to have the same texture 3c/4a in the same spots...I have a few 3b strands that get on my nerves and tangles up with my tighter curls!. My question to you is do you ever find your 3c strands with knots in them caused by applying product and rubbing your hair in a circular motion? I think they are called "faerie knots"

  • Hey! I know exactly what you are talking about..lol The firat time that I went natural I experienced this because I didn't clip my ends at all. This time I haven't experienced it at all. the cause of this is split ends. when your ends are split the top layer of hair (cuticle) is ragged and snaggs on another strand or on the same strand resulting in knots. If you keep your ends clipped on a regular basis you won't experience this problem as much.

  • How do you determine what you hair type is?

  • Will you have a segment for protective styles for shorter length hair? I'm growing out my relaxer and going natural. My hair comes below my ears and touches my collar in the back - a cute choppy shag/layered cut (I call it a long cut Halle Berry). I not ready for the BC even though my hair is fairly short - I not ready for bald. Any tips? Peace and NO hair grease. :)

  • Hi thank you for your help, but i wanted to know what perms or relaxers are best for a African american hair?

  • Hi I previously used motions mild and and it was great. I have also used mizani and it was was very mild also.

  • my edges wont grow.. help!!

  • I use this stuff all the time and let me tel you it is WONDERFUL! ITs worth every dime. TRUST ME! Its great!!!!

  • hello..I'm sorry but..I can't catch the name of your products u use.can you shoot them to me via message.thanx

  • where can i get your products is it in any stores yet.... or only online

  • only online at this time..thanks for asking~

  • If you use any of her products you will not be disappointed. I love the smell and the feel of my hair after using her products. I actually got the entire line and I would have actually paid more (dont raise the prices though Saleema :)

  • I am tranisting and my hair is in braids right now. What products do you suggest I use from your website? I went through it but am not sure where to begin.

  • Hi! Good video. I have the growth lotion, but Im almost out. I know using the full regime daily is required for the best results, but could you tell me which two to three products I should absolutely purchase? I use V05 comb in cream w/the lotion..love it! When my hair air dries it looks so healthy, shiny and soft! Watching your BC inspired me to do mines and I didnt have a perm. My hair has been natural for about 15 years. Thank you for your expertise and videos.

    Peace and Blessings!

  • Me too!

  • Great video!I love it.

  • 3:33 to 3:48. Thanks for the tip :)

  • wow... i forgot about the Jazzi rinse!!!! thanks for reminding me... I'm braiding my hair now... but the end of Nov. I need to even out my hair color.... do you think I can use Jazzi while Breastfeeding?

  • I would think that it would be safe but maybe you should wait just to be on the safe side.

  • Your hair looks great! Thanks for the tutorial.
