Great techniques Caio! I do have a question on an option I use that I will want to brainstorm with you later (maybe on your site or Facebook) It is possible to hit that arm bar earlier on rather than waiting on the opponent to post. Posting gives him to much ability to stack and use the off hand to fight the submission. Just an observation.
My instructor told me that my closed guard is really good, but my open guard sucks. So he said I can't use closed guard for a month in class. This material is going to help so much! Thank you for posting!
Thanks Caio! My natural movements favor the spider guard and I have had people start defending it using that knee. Thanks for the techniques! I will drill these techniques starting tonight and hope it yields positive results. Thanks again! It is appreciated!
I'm actually the one who manages Caio's youtube channel. He does look at the comments, but he doesn't usually have to time to respond. It's best if you visit his website and contact him there with your question.
But in regards to your second question about your opponent posting his left leg, the second technique shows the counter to when your opponent does so.
Question: After you get to the point where you´re right leg is beneath the opponent and you run your hip to the left why would you cross his arm on the direction that you are throwing him? Does'nt that give him a possible base to prevent the throw? Also to block this sweep does'nt he just have to throw out his left leg in order to spread his base? Great technique, but I am just starting so if you could clear these points up it would be great.
