it says i need admin privileges on win 7 starter so i went to the mmc and attempted to change it by adding local users and groups well so on it didnt work so i started in safe mode tried to change in there funny thing is i am admin -----------can any one help----------------------

keep saying obtaining ip address. but not eventually connected. i heard something about DHCP...but i dont get it.im a nood. would be great if i can share my internet with my phone during work since the data connection just fail if im in the office.

does it say "acquiring a network address"? It can be fixed by simply right-click > Properties in "My Network Places" on the connection in question. Then highlight "TCP/IP" and choose Properties again. On that screen where you can manually enter IP/DNS addresses just click "OK", and keep "OK"ing your way back out of those screens without actually changing anything. Viola... status changes to "Connected".

It's an annoying bug you normally only see in XP.

12:55 - on the realtek wireless lan utility there is an option under 'mode' for setting a wlan card to act as a access point, i've used it a few times before to create a mobile N150 network sharing a 7.2mb hsdpa connection :)
