Yes, it's true. His love for us is rich. At first, He seems so new to us that we misinterpret who He is. We put Him in a bottle and make Him our genie. We even give Him advice on handling our problems. But when we unleash His love and remove all of our ourselves, we see Him in real intimacy. Our prayers go from save me, to teach me and then...use me. And He captures our hearts in a most complete way. Then what our world afflicts us with has no bearing on who we are since we have all of Him.

I just got back from a retreat. Living Anthem was there (they're awesome, check them out) leading our worship, and they played this the second night. Right there, in front of everyone, I cried like a baby. "You considered me Your friend", even after all of done. This song always gets me. I love Jesus!

hmm, I'd have to say I was once like you jonas. It's not really easy to just "like" this music. My passion for it comes from the lyrics. I'd recommend never trying to like it, but more find the passion in the song. Find the heart of God in the lyrics, in the melody, in the instruments. And also try the other bands people have recommended, Christian music with a good message. But try to find the heart in the worship songs like this one :) Good luck man! God Bless.

Try some flyleaf, they are hard and still have a very christian message, also try Kutless' older material, newer stuff is a little more contemporary. Also try Skillet they are a little more on the fringe but still very good and nice and hard for you metal heads.

Focus more on what the words are trying to say to you. When the words soften your heart, the love for the sound will come more. Failing that, listen to bands like Kutless, Blindside, Living Sacrifice and Soul Embraced for a chunkier sound.
