  • this guy know nothing about vehicles whatsoever. Damn it he's so camera shy he displays his nervousness by repeating the word vehicle 12 times in 1 minute . Thumbs up if you counted how many times he said vehice

  • Hey beretta and jinx you little sick pricks need to swallow a stick with your random assumptions. Race has nothing to do with the air filters that are stuck up your posterior Nice vid!

    .

  • Nice ride!

  • this guy really loves that air filter

  • @i thought the same LMAO hes all rubbing it and shit LMAO, i was waiting for that filter to cum, coz damn if i got rubbed like that im damn shure i would PMSL

  • @gv4l HE MIGHT OF HAD SEX WITH HIS AIR FILTER

  • Hes shy

  • That is *NOT* a filter, it has huge holes in a much smaller surface area so sandblasts the engine and causes far more problems with a turbo charger. The quality of Expert Village videos is quite poor, they are just useless most of the time. Lots of wrong information. It seems they just flood youtube with any old video to get lots of views and generate income. I wish youtube would allow users to "vote to remove/delete" videos on the site, it would do us all a favour. RATED ZERO.

  • This dude is BLAzzed man

  • You people are strange! He's not an actor, he's just telling ya a little about air filters! Chill out.

  • muppet has no clue

  • This guy must be either high or shy. He probably looks at the camera like twice in the whole video.

  • This guy was talking to the air filter and the water bottle the whole time ..LOL.

  • as a matter of fact, as long as your air filter hose is directed in a way that it won't suck in hot air like for example right in the front of the hood it will breathe cold air it will suck in a tiny bit of hot air of the engine but thats going to happen no matter how you have the hose set up.

  • lol in a nut shell

  • i totally agree...dont ask an expert who cant give advice...and who cant talk in front of a camera

  • @holysmokes700 Agreed, another usless video by ExpertVillage. We should rename them to something else to reflect the rubbish they are flooding youtube with. They never seem to check the technical aspects of anything, just throw a video together, upload and wait for the money to roll in from the number of views.

  • definately a j fuelled description

  • this guy smoke a j before doin this vid or what? lol

  • Surely a race filter only makes a difference at wide open throttle?

  • It allows more UNFILTERED AIR to flow, it has a much smaller surface area than a paper filter. A paper filter actually FILTERS - but the car will never use the max airflow through a paper filter. The man does NOT know what he is talking about, he has been misled like thousands of others by a company selling to a boy racer market who will buy anything if you say it makes a crap car *FAST* ! Never believe all the advertising rubbish and fake tests, all these do is LOWER PERFORMANCE.

  • has anyone else got interesting views on air filters or car parts? cus it all just seems like your all here to talk about race, n stuff, not the subject at hand.

  • more air, more power, all u need to say man. but it doesnt make alot of difference unless your car is fuel injection. i got one of those on my car but ive got a carb.

  • i should explain my comments, by insecure this is what i mean.

if you call a black person a black bastard, he will be offended by being called black.

however if you call a white dude a white bastard, he will be offended by being called a bastard. this shows that maybe the average black person is a little more racially insecure than the average white dude and race matters a little more to the black community.dont really matter tho.

again im not racist, this just seems to be the case.

  • you are a racist, because you classify insecurity by the colour of our skin lol, keep on telling yourself you aren't lol......

  • who brought race into it?? too many people care about skin colour like it means anything??

who cares what color the dude is, he has obviously been asked to speak a few words on camera and he gave it a shot, he isnt a broadcaster clearly but he gave it a go to benefit all of us so cut him a break and shut the fuck up about skin colour, by the way im white and as much as muh as i find the black race a little insecure, i dont agree with racism.

  • zzzzz........ please go to public speaking classes or something.

  • he looked at the camera once in that whole video ffs

  • Oh, ok. Don't fucking call him a nigger, motherfuckers!!!

    Tolerate.

  • hmm, i didn't realise that looking into a camera meant that you were a faggot?

  • He looks at the camera at 1:13...whatta fagot!

  • @Spartan2552 NOTICE HOW HE SMILES ALL THE TIME MAYBE IS ALL JACKED UP!

  • What the fuck is this? I learned nothing.

  • dont watch it then lol

  • he might have been wrong about a few things but don't make fun of him because he tried

  • he tried, but expert village needs to do a better job of screening their videos before posting. this gives them a bad image.

  • that was an awefull explanation.

  • Wow. Sounds like he got the script from the box.

  • look at the camera black man

  • A bit of a racist remark calling him "black" like that dont you think ??

  • calling someone black is now racist?? get your facts straight black is a politically correct term to call a nigger

  • Nah man, thats not what I meant..

The way he said it is just ... I dunno its kind of inappropriate

What I MEAN IS, he could have said it differently or not said it at all :D

  • well first off,i work in a parts store and we have our garage and we fit performance parts upgrades modifications and everything,so i know that an air filter doesnt keep the engine cool.coolant does that, and the air filter allows a faster and cooler airflow into the engine to add to the petrol, more air and more petrol gives bigger explosion, bigger explosion means more power, GET IT RIGHT DICK

  • now I'm prob going to get hate comments cuz I don't know to much about this but does that mean a turbo does the same thing an airfilter does?

  • Technically, no...but the concept is the same. A freer-flowing air filter will allow the engine to breathe better (the same way humans need to breathe deeper when we work harder)...the more air available, the more fuel you can add, and the more power you make. A turbocharger operates along the same concept (using an exhaust-driven turbine),compressing the air and increasing its density (more air in a given volume)...so once again, more air, more fuel, more power.

  • thank you for that...

  • Rich mixtures can also aid in cooling of the cylinder. Aircraft engines run rich mixtures during idle and full power to insure a stable CHT. Since their not Liquid Cooled. With the proper balance of F/A you can keep the engine cooler. Cooler the Cylinder the more power you can get out of it. Hotter and you just increase the chance of Pre-ignition and detonation. Better airflow will Aid in the cooling slightly.

  • look at the camera. lol what a noob and he looks like he wants to laugh.

  • He wants to laugh because even he can't believe how AWEFUL these DIY videos all are by expert village! Damn. The information on many of these videos are just so wrong. Even for DIY noobs! LOL!

  • this dude is fuckin smacked

  • loooooooooooool

  • WTF? They went and hired a drunk/high man to do it? LMAO! Nice job Expert Village. lol

  • what the heck you got 79684 videos .. wow .

  • is this guy sleepy or something??

  • I gotne of them in me Range Rover : )

    Phat fucks.

  • you guys are retarded.if those things let dirt into your cars engine then the mass air flow sensor would give you a shitty throttle response thus letting you know that theyrer bad.mine is just fine and i garantee i have no dri\\irt in mine.

  • You also reduce the life of your engine by letting more dirt in because thats how those performance filters get you more horsepower more air comes through but so does dirt. Yay dirt!

  • That's actually 100% incorrect.

Less dirt and less dust comes in, because the filter's properties are upgraded, thus blocking out more crap than before.

Even though you are taking more air in, you are also taking less crap in.

    Get i?

  • On scooters it just works like hadin said..

I know it sounds unbelievable but its just what happened 2 a lotta scooters of friends of myn :S

  • Yup same as on scooters..

There r scooters with powerfilters, but those filters just atract dirt :S

  • Well if the video was entitled "Basic Scooter Tune-up" I wouldn't have a problem with what hadin said now would I?

    =)

  • the reason it took away his 0-60 is the lack of "front pressure" kinda the same type of thing as back pressure, but on your intake, you need the length of the stock pipe for the best ammount of air to be stored so when you open your throttle you dont run the engine lean, or flood it... the reason that your 20-80 got better was that once your already moving the wind force that you pick up with your speed pushes the sir through the pipe, so at a stand still the intake air speed is at 0 but at...

  • rymez4life, you know what you are talking about sir.

    : )

  • high performance filters decrease the fuel economy, but do make the engine more responsive and sound more racey!

    good vid aswell...:)

  • boringgggggg!!!

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • Almost fell asleep after watching 3 seconds of this shit..

  • very gay

  • gay

  • Best thing you can do is get a K&N or equivalent "replacement" air filter. These will last the life of a vehicle and then some. They will be the last filter you will ever buy for that vehicle because they are reusable through the use of a $10 kit (that will clean and re-oil about 6-10 times). $50-60 for a lifetime filter is the main reason I use them, not for horsepower gains (which are minimal). Any gains are exponential however, the more power an engine makes, the more the increase is.

  • check out my smoke shows and my races in my lexus sc430 and benzo e500

    youtube/tsaleen

great video btw thanks for posting it!!!!

p.s. if you go view my movies please rate them

    thanks in advance

    Robert

  • Great vide0 ! ★★★★★ stars !

  • you like the feel of that air filter don't you?

  • he is so slow and boring. get to the point. pannel filters are better in my opinion. always declare your mods and oil your filter regularly !

  • I'm sure you're a great teacher in your own mind, but this guy has proven that he can teach by posting information that has gotten plenty of "thanks" along the way, proving to be informative.

Now go post your own videos or be another "know-it-all" who only knows that he knows nothing...

  • hes right 100%... cheap "high performance" cold air intake systems add maybe... .25 of a hp, everyone claims they can fell the difference.. they cant... and if you get a cheapie your doing good if the filter can stop small rocks let alone dust

  • I added an intake pipe, and a high performance breather to my bone stock toyota.

It took almost a second away from my 20-80 times, but it almost added a second to my 0-60 times.

  • must have messed with the computer and, fiddled with the shift points unexpedidly... the air flow can change lots of thigs in the way the car acts... 0-60 bein slower and 20-80 bein faster... is well useless racing wise

  • I reset the computer, but that's standard knowledge after a new air filtration system is setup.

My car has an automatic tranny, and the only way to fiddle with the shift points is to tighten the kickback cable for tighter shifting, which I have already done.

Once the previous air/flow mixture was wiped and reset, there are no problems with it affecting anything else on the car, with the exception of performance. "is well useless racing wise"

I'm not a race car driver, so that's A-OK with me.

  • how did "resetting" the computer make any difference with anything. and tightening the kick down can seriously harm your transmission over time.

  • Resetting the comp re-reads the new temperature, and the new amount of air-flow acquired with an upgrade like this.

This prevents all of those problems you described from happening.

Tightening the kick back cable has absolutely no harmful effects on any of the Toyota Camrys I have ever worked on, and that's what I drive.

  • thiers no way to reset an ecm, they are factory programmed, some can learn how you drive, and it might seem like its reprogrammed, but unless its chipped or flashed its still factory programmed...

and tightening the "kick down" WIll lead to premature transmission wear, the bands and sileoniods are being used more then they should be, and make it hard on gas....

unless it was looser then its supposed to be at first then its a perfect thing to do

  • Aftermarket filters are often not shielded from the engine and suck in more hot air than an original filter. Hot air will reduce the cars peformance.

  • kewl
