Ok, all lovers of American Muscle Cars has its favourite. The fastest might have been the Chevelle, or? But, in my opinion, the most beautiful was the Pontiac GTO of the 60th, 70th! Well, it's a matter of taste. The nice thing is that there IS/ARE differnt taste of the design of cars.

@Dragcrazystreetracer and why not? the bel-air is every bit muscle car and more (sorry for those of you who think the first is the GTO.) and it spawned the legendary 409 cars, which pretty much helped kick off the horsepower wars. But it really depends on how you define the term muscle car, technically it matches up to all of the criteria. 4 seats, a V8 (yes, the later bel-airs could get a 409 just like the impalas) and many people had the tri-five chevy's.

Good comp, but you left out a huge collection of Ford muscle. You missed the 63-64 427 R-code Galaxie, Thunderbolt, 66-67 427Fairlane, and the Cobra Jet Torinos. And where are the Vettes? They are techincally muscle cars. Nice work with the mopars, I love the old super stock 330s, Furys, Belevideres and Coronets!

honestly a well tuned 390hp 440 6 pack road runner could run as fast as a stock 426 hemi with the same gearing,trans, etc...! i got proofs of that. the hemi was not AS fast as some says...it could be fast if you modify one..it responds really well to modifications and it's easy to get 500-600 hp with a hemi. BUT A STOCK HEMI is not much faster than a 440. the LS-6 chevelle could outrun a hemi cuda if you dont melt the tires off the line. but the difference is tenth of seconds ...
