i was just there yesterday, and the cops came.. they come every day now! we where lucky enough to get let off the hook.. other then that.. it was amazing!!
@marshalljimduncan Yes. The morgue is definitely there still. I plan on taking one of the beds before the city gets a hold of it. Theyve been stripping the metal out to pay for the demolition
@Sevans328 If this is the one in michigan on seven mile, it's already been torn down. But the underground tunnels that connected all the buildings are still supposed to be there, and easily accesssable.
I haven't been, but I've been researching. I wanna be next to shitting myself in "haunted" places like this and Eloise, trying to get inspiration for my family's traditional haunted house we build every halloween.
@sk8freak51392 I don't know, earlier this year, I believe. I saw on the news that Michigan was going to begin demolishing decrepit and unsafe buildings dues to the number of squatters and thrill-seekers spending night in abandoned places, and Northville was one of the building complexes they were going to tear down because, unlike Eloise Sanitarium, it wasn't converted into a museum.
Yeah, I know how it goes; first they make a presentation for a hotel, and then when they get patients they torture them in the most cruel ways (hydrotherapy is already enough). God knows what was going on in that hospital, I'm afraid to even think about it.
Depends on what kind of mental illness she had, they usually don't torture those who suffer just from depression. I've had opportunity to visit some mental hospitals and I know how cruel the staff were. I also know a girl who was raped there by guards, but of course, it differs from hospital to hospital, they don't have to be the same.
@GothicPrinzessin oh yeah i can imagine there were instances were rapes and beatings were committed, but it was never common practice.
my mom was labeled "schizophrenic with homicidal and suicidal tendencies". the staff were always very cool to me and any other visitors, but she spent most of the time restrained i believe.
no one knew how to deal with the mentally ill, and still dont.
engler closed this place and almost every other asylum in MI, to save on taxes.

You made it feel a bit like the game "Fallout", if you ever heard of it. The same music and same style. Love it!

we used to go into the northville tunnels when we were younger. mag light flashlights and glow in the dark chalk helped navigation.
i remember parking our car in a soccer field across some busy street.

Wow, how long has that place been closed? It looks like a thousand goths vandalized the place frustrated that they didn't see any ghosts.
