ALways play to the whistle of the ref, and only to what he sees. It may be a metre here, or creeping into an offside position that gives the small advantage that can turn a tight match, or an unseen hand in a ruck that allows a turnover that leads to a counter attack. This is all part of it.  I respect all refs in rugby. Its a tough game control and you really need eyes in the back of your head.

@gizarangi yes my comment was a sarcastic and yes I do get annoyed about his cheating especially when it's against my team but I do admire him as a player and the way he is able to bend the rules and the ref, he is probably the smartest player in rugby whether it's his running lines or his ability to pick which ruck to go into.

@gizarangi there's nothing wrong with cheating in rugby only if you get caught then it's bad. It take skill to cheat the way McCaw does as he is able to push it to the very limit and very rarely cross it.
