Hmm.. I could understand how not having an air bag will make you (assuming everyone is on the same playing field) a careful drivers. Notice that cars back then does't have much of a safety features, and people still drive it. With that being said, now with modern techs we should be able to eliminate the use of airbags, instead we should focus on the materials we made cars out of. Even a damn drunkard wouldn't drink n drive in a car like that.

Chinese cars are coming!? Not a chance in hell. Even Fiat Chrysler will have no chance in hell of EVER getting Chinese made vehicles in the US. The abysmal safety record of Chinese vehicles speaks for itself (1) and too many Americans are already tied to American brands (2) along with the improved quality of Japanese and South Korean manufacturers (3) and of course European presences (4). Besides, there are areas of China where car ownership is low - don' t look for Cherys on American soil.

ALL Cars made in the entire world in the 50's, 60's 70's and much of the 80's did not have much of a concern for passenger safety. Don't drive like an idiot, keep your driving distractions to a minimum, zero distractions is better, stay situationally aware, keep the upkeep of your car in mechanical tip top shape. Driving a car without seatbelts airbags etc? Well, it's best to stay out of accidents in the first place, isn't it ? Bottom line? Do your best to stay out of an accident

@phildawg200 Some GM cars are actually Korean/ Japanese.... example; Chevrolet Cruze=Daewoo Lacetti Premiere, Pontiac Vibe=Toyota Matrix. Ford is also doing the same. Ford Fiesta= bigger version of Mazda 2, Ford Escape=Mazda Tribute. Also some Doge/Chrysler vehicles actually use mitsubishi engines. So think again when you buy "American cars" because some parts may actually be Korean/Japanese.

ALL repeat ALL repeat ALL the foreign brands made in USA are NON union (NO collective bargaining =no middle class). Also, most Japanese brands utilize more Chinese content than American brands

@Herrasmiesvaras german cars are overall good, Italian cars sometimes lack on refinishment but they are very safe and good looking and have a superb performance.
Japanese cars are excellent bult but they don't sit very well, and they don't give you that comfy feeling.
I never tried Volvo, but I think it is a very cool looking and comfy car as well
