i did this on NASA KC-135a just before it retired i went with my dad a few years ago. and my god it is the most amazing experience ever. the feeling of no gravity is weird and wonderful you cant help but do flips and stuff. my dad 'tried' flips then he felt sick. the vomit comet is the best experience ever

How does it work is self explainitory...when your in a free fall, excluding the wind you feel weightless. When your in a ZERO G flight, your in a free fall, but the plane is blocking the wind,basically you skydive until the plane pulls back up.

thats just how i view it. If falling gives you the feeling of weighlessness, then when i bungee jumped, something was wrong, cause i fell very heavy. Adding an object around me would not have taken that feeling away.

I think the plane goes up to a point where the effects of gravity are minimal, allowing you to float.

its not space, its a special plane. it goes up high in the atmosphere and starts to drop. when the speed increases you go at the same speed as gravity, so it doesn't pull on you and you start to float (not technical terms but thats the jist of it)
