  • can you chop the samples into the pads in real time as the sample is playing?

    Thanks,

  • @WeigandTube you can assign samples to pads while a sequence and adjust a sample too but you can't extract a piece of sample and add it to a new pad while playing

  • how do i save new programs I create? I tried saving to autoload folder and they were gone once i turned off then back on....?

  • @WeigandTube what file type are you saving? make sure you're saving both .pgm's and the sound files

  • quick question, how do I set the pads to be on one shot so when i hit it again it loops back to the start and does not overlap the original one shot hit? does that make sense? hard Q to type, thanks for the help, again.

  • @StevieYoungblood press (program) then (kg mix) then (zone) at the bottom of the screen you'll see where it says "play mode" by default it set to "as sample" change that to "one shot" and you're good to go

  • ahhhhh, wow did that tip make this thing more fun.....now how can I save that setting so every time I turn it back on I dont have to manually set it?

    Thanks for the help.

  • @StevieYoungblood Save that program and any other parameters such as bpm and bar length to a folder titled "autoload" you must name it that, and the 4000 will load whatever is in that folder every time it gets turned on.....The folder must be created and saved to the hard drive though, not a flash drive or anything else

  • Thats bro for the tutorial, please do more there are not enough 4000 tutorials

  • @Dmajor2011 Glad it could help. I have no problem of doing more tutorials, if you have any suggestions or questions let me know and I'll just make tutorial on that.

  • Yes, thanks for the help, one more quick question, I connected the mic to the input and flipped the switch from phone to mic line, but here nothing?

  • @WeigandTube 1. are you in record mode and what does the Input source field say? 2. What type of mic is it, some mic's need an external power source and the mpc doesn't provide that. Push the gain button in and see if that helps

  • For some reason its applying the first chop to all 16 pads, any idea why this would be? thanks

  • @WeigandTube only thing I can think of, is maybe you're skipping or not doing the step at 1:14 correctly.

  • how do I assign the sample when its chopped in 16 parts equally to the 16 pads?

  • @WeigandTube once chopped into 16 different sample you can press "program" then "assign" and manually go through and assign each sample to a pad. OR before the sample is chopped into 16 parts, press "region" or "f3" while in the sample trim screen. In the middle of the screen it will say region 1, highlight with cursor press the "menu" button and change to 16, it chops into 16 regions, press edit, "slice sample" select "create program" and rotate to say "yes" press "do it" the pads are assinged

  • good tutorial video. you def need to keep making these as you're learning the machine. not enough good 4000 tutorial videos on YouTube.

  • I came from the 2000XL & mv 8000 still have 8k how big of a difference have you noticed coming from the 2500 pro/con the 4k is huge but you can't beat it with a stick!

  • @BORN7SUPREME

the 2500 is easier to use and has lots of features the 4 has if you install JJ OS, but the 4 is built strong with a steal case like the 2xl and sounds better than the 2500, better filters etc. I like em both but love the bigger screen of the 4, the biggest con is ak.sys is bitch to use on newer computers, and the 2500 can plug and transfer to any computer with no hassle

  • It's so quick you don't need to be that lazy & save params,I've been copying or screen shots & creating my own bible from the form I'm following you on the cloud also!

  • Man I knew you had to assign the zone parameters & all but this work around saves helluva time when choppin !

  • I've been looking for that zone trick is there any way to save this setting so when you power up it initializes? great tip man peace keep em comin!
