Emergency Law passed by Parliament in a Democracy was used by "a country" to fight against Communist Insurgency. It restricted terrorist movements,cut down their networks operations. The government defeated the communist insurgency and the communist party later surrendered. It should & will work for Pakistan. President Musharaf is wise to use Emergency Law to fight against the terrorist insurgency. Demonstrators are shortsighted.

How can these opposition parties stand a chance against Musharraf when they are themselves as divided as East & West Germany? Imran Khan went to Punjab University to garner support this morning & youth-wing of the Islamist parties, kidnapped him, locked him up in a room for hours & then handed him to the police! Impossible to tell who are the good guys and who are the bad guys in Pakistan.

Everyone will say read this or read that, but the this's and that's are all slanted towards what you are expected to believe. Lots of lies by everyone, including Musharrif.

Just as an observer it seems Musharrif (sp?)has at least walked the tightrope and maintained some order on the streets in Pakistan since 9/11.

Maybe it is because of military strengh and intimidation. I don't know.

Both are bad guys in my book.

I think the Army is the good guys for now, at least they are maintaining some order. There is no wholesale murder on the streets yet. Just the beginning, a few suicide bombers.
