Nice Bro. What are you running thru exactly? What kind of mods you running thru it? I think I could use that sound for my live thing on a couple songs.
But I am afraid it would be too loud form my need.
I play in a half-acoustic band, and i want to replace my 100 W solid state Fender amp, becouse that sounds bad.
My problem is that the smaller amps with smaller wattege have only one speaker, and have one channel with gain and can not be played christal clear like this one.
strat. I have that amp and want to replace the factory speakers. I play a lonestar strat and gibson sg and was wondering what kind of speakers and max watts to use. Thanks
Thanks fenderlonestar1! I haven't changed a thing on the amp yet:) I think I will keep the speakers for a while....now that they have been played through and broke-in, they sound pretty good. I have a certain tone dialed in now that I really like for my style of playing and I think I'll make a couple of new videos ...
Good to see a Bama brother playing nice sound nice playing. Kinda hard to believe that's a Crate Amp..!! lol I never have cared for Crates but I would consider buying a V33-212. Is that a DigiTech pedal? Say you're going into the effects return bypassing the amp's preamp?
Yep, it's a Crate:) I paid $250 for it and then they discontinued them! You can still find them for sale online, but not usually that cheap. Thanks for commenting on my video Xiphos2000!
Hey bcknghmgrn, thanks for checking out my video and commenting! When I first got the amp I tried both the clean and dirty channels. I found that with a little adjusting you can make either channel sound great but I use an effects pedal plugged into the "effects return" on the back of the amp. I like being able to control the volume and eq through my effects pedal and I can get any sound I want, dirty or clean. I would say the amp has a Vox AC30 vibe... just not as expensive. Great amp!
Sounds great! Man I love a slow blues jam and Riviera Paradise is a beautiful song. That clean fender tone is iconic, great job. SRV is one of my major influences as well check out my take on the sky is crying.
Thanks munroe83! Im glad you liked it. I checked out your vids too. Like they say where I come from....you aint too shabby yourself! Thanks for checking my vid out :)
Not a big fan of stevie, but being a guitar player myself, you sound very good. I also just got ahold of a V33H head from crate, and I also play through a digitech rp200 (older version of your 250)and I cant believe the sound the head produces. Keep bluesin out my man.
Being a V33 owner myself, I can totally agree. This amp can do a lot more than some give it credit for. Ive found you just have to play with settings a bit to grab the tone your looking for. Great sound. BTW, what effects do you have punched in on your rp250 in this video? I know I hear the delay. And I'm guessing this is played totally thru the clean channel on the amp.
Thank you very much for your kind words! Im glad you liked it. Your right about having to dial in the amp. I tinkered with mine for a while before I found the right set-up for my playing style. I bypass the amps eq by plugging into the "effects return" and using my effects pedal as the volume control and eq. The only active knob on the amp is the reverb, I control everything else through the pedal. I like this set-up. Your right, the only effect I use on this video is some delay. Thanks again!
I have had the amp a few months now and I really like it. It seems to be well made but the tubes in it are the cheapest you can get so a tube upgrade would be smart when the stock tubes need replacing....You can get some great tones from this amp both clean and dirty....oh yea, it sounds great with effect pedals. I use a Digitech rp250 and I can get any sound I want out of it. Try one, if you can still find one, and you will like it. Thanks for commenting.
